Definitely one of the careers in the NHLSince it's been 7 years and some people may not be aware, Riley Sheahan scored 2 goals in the Red Wings' last game of the year in 2017.
Normally this isn't noteworthy, but he hadn't scored a goal in the previous 84 games (including 5 playoff games in 2016). In 122-ish shots on goal, and 217-ish shot attempts.
Exactly…..Noooooo not RileyOne of the guys of all time.
I vaguely remember his name from his time in Buffalo..completely forgot about him until reading this thread though. Best of luck to him with coachingOne of the most vanilla players I've ever seen. Nothing sticks out about him at all. Carved out a nice career, but he just always seemed like he was just kinda... there.
It's weird because he's retiring at a near .33 clip in terms of points. It never felt like he did anything yet somehow almost amassed 200 points.I am guessing he was a great locker room guy. He never really did anything all that special and still managed to to play 670 total NHL games. Coaches liked him.
I only remember this because it was the Devils who they were playing in the season finale/last game at Joe Louis Arena. And both goals were on Cory Schneider who was just capping off his first decline season.Since it's been 7 years and some people may not be aware, Riley Sheahan scored 2 goals in the Red Wings' last game of the year in 2017.
