Speculation: *Rifai vs. Liljegren. Rifai Clears. Liljegren healthy scratch.

I don't know about Rifai.

But I'm pretty sure that was the last game we see of Liljegren in a Leafs uniform. They were better off leaving him a healthy scratch. All putting him in the game did was expose how bad he is.

For someone with a lot to prove the only thing he proved was how right the coaches were.

In an offseason full of questionable signings this one is looking the worst. Three million dollars for a number eight defenseman. At this point the only thing they can do is hope there's a team desperate for an overpaid underachieving scrub with limited upside.

Otherwise it's gonna cost yet another pick to unload this guy.

I would suggest packaging him with Timmins. But all that would do is increase the cost to dump a chump. Neither one of them are good enough to be playing a regular role on a cup contending team.

Rifai isn't either but he's on the Marlies where he belongs.

lol, it won’t cost anything to trade him. It was an arbitration signing, we will get a return for him, it won’t be much, but we sure as shit aren’t paying to unload him.
