Ya this replay I hadn’t seen before. It’s pretty obvious that Grieg putting his hand on the stick deflects the stick up into his own face

That's exactly it. If the NHL had decided that 5 games for a crosscheck to the head is the punitive standard, then great. But that's not how it works. They stick to the letter of the law for the Leafs and then play wheel of f***ing fortune on similar plays. It's a punchline.

5 games is the minimum I said he would get. It’s a 2 to 3 game suspension for any other player but then add the Leafs extra cost and that’s where they ended up. We all knew the DoPS is crooked you’d be blind if you thought otherwise.
