Rielly’s response to Greig was…

See the thing is the DOPs hasn’t been consistent at all since Parros took over - especially against the leafs. We have more than enough examples now. I think us Leaf fans are rightfully fed up.

I feel the frustration too. I also know the other fans of other teams feel the same.

And I would argue the inconsistencies are league wide and a product of incremental steps away from Don Cherry style hockey over a period of time.

More worried about Leafs Nation declaring Morgan the next Kadri and wanting their pound of flesh.

1 Game understandable
2 Games understandble because Leafs
Anything over that is a joke, even 2 is a joke.
Nothing they can do. If they want to piss off one of our best playoff players go ahead, but unless Rielly asks for a trade (his dad might have a heart attack) he isn’t going anywhere until at least July 2028.

Why even have "in-person" hearings? Why not do all hearings virtually? Why make a guy get on a plane and fly all the way to NY?

I said the same. It's dumb. Fly the guy there to sit in a chair for 30 minutes and then fly him back? What's the point in having technology if you don't use it to make things more efficient?
They don't have to attend, it's an option.

I don't see that happening. The Kadri thing potentially cost us that round, this is regular season and its not like these next few games will be do or die for us.

But yes, anything over 2 is a joke. Prepare for laughter then.

Makes you wonder if sitting down a table with these people can actually help your cause.

Rielly should have dropped his stick and gloves and thrown that little puke Ridly Greig hard to the ice, and then pummeled him with his fists.

Using your stick as a weapon just gets you suspended. The Sens won the game, AND by a wide margin, the nonsense that happened after the slap shot empty net goal.

If I was the GM of Ottawa, I would have waived Greig to Bellville and left him there if he cleared. There is NO PLACE in the NHL for disrespectful SHOWBOATING and UNSPORTSMANLIKE behavior !!! Of course, Ottawa being such a classy franchise, no punishment will be dolled out to a player that disrespected another NHL team.

Sure, Rielly deserves a 2 game suspension, BUT NOWHERE close to 6 games.

For sure, we can count on that NHL shill Shanahan to support the NHL and NOT ADMONISH the NHL, the Sens, or their puke of a player Ridly Greig.

It's time for Shanahan to be FIRED. He's been working for the NHL all along while collecting money from MLSE.

f*** you NHL, Bettman, Parros, and the sad sack Ottawa Senators.

And if they do want an in person hearing, there is currently no option to do it virtually - exceptions are made however for natural disasters and snowstorms. That's the point. Unless over phone = virtual?

This makes no sense. If it's virtual it's not in-person.

But I'd rather do it virtually than over the phone, so you can actually see the person. Does anyone at work do work meetings over the phone? or do they use the fancy internet with Zoom?

Teams is pretty much the go to for meetings these days. I'm on one right now.

I saw your edit.
'In-person' just means they can suspend more than 6 games. They don't have that option for virtual meets.

I can't remember the last time I had a work meeting over the phone. Last time I got a phone call about work it was to say set up a zoom meeting
