Hope someone can light a fire under his ass.

Nash's struggles are not rooted in what he can't do, but rather what hes seemingly unwilling to do. That makes it all the more frustrating.

Hes brutal in tight space, just awful.

Nash

The rangers problem start and end with the lack of a true number 1 center in the last 20 years. Simple as that. If you watch Nash play he has to create every shot and never has space that's directly related to Stephan.

they just closed a thread about him...why another?

You are best going into the general forum to chat about Nash, get a view from fans that are not just Ranger fans. Some good discussion going on there now.

Because hes in the midst of one of the more disgraceful playoff performances in recent memory and it should be talked about, probably above all else thats happened these playoffs.

Well, at which point will it be OK to talk about him again? Although there's not much new to tall about his performance, the OP seems to rather want to discuss his future on this team. I think that's a legitimate question.

Get the **** off of my hockey team, Rick Nash. The sooner the better. Having that loser as the centerpiece of the offense guarantees that the Rangers will win nothing.

Some players lack heart, there is just no way around it. Nash has no problem in Olympics or playing former team it's just that for whatever reason his motor is inconsistent. A lot of things can be excused but inconsistent effort isn't one of them. A legit 1c is obviously part of problem but he hasn't exactly helped his own cause.

Looking at all the glamour gets during Sather era and all of them are gone in 4 years tops. I'm thinking Nash will be gone like that too. Maybe as soon as next summer. But then some other superstar will be in to disappoint us all over again.

I think the thing that bothers me the most is Nash picked up his play significantly for the two weeks before they picked the Canadian Olympic team, but isn't willing/able to do that during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

He's pretty pathetic to watch right now. No drive, no confidence, avoiding contact and he can't buy a ****ing goal. Beast mode off.

Kreider

getting Kreider back on Nash's line will help him a lot I think.

But yes, Nash is a big softie.

He looked a little better last night, but he obviously needs to step it up. The one play where he basically shuffleboarded the puck like a senior citizen on a cruise ship to Fleury which ended a very good possession play is unacceptable.

You either keep him or trade him. Using a buyout on Nash over Richards would be a travesty even though Richards has been better in the playoffs.

I'd be all for trading him, but would he wave his NTC? Also his contract is actually backloaded, so he will cost more than $8 million per year in actual dollars. But you're right, Richards is even worse. Maybe we should've kept Redden :sarcasm:

Yeah, but my guess is that a team that would be willing to take him would care more about the cap situation than actual dollars paid. His hit is still gigantic though. Good grief.

I'd think the opposite. The teams I'd consider likely wanting to add Nash are the smaller market teams looking for a big name and an opportunity to add some (regular season) scoring. Teams only caring about cap hit usually are the teams that want to content, I don't think they'd want to add Nash at $7.8M.

Someone suggested Florida and that sounds like a pretty good guess to me. Maybe he'll waive his NTC - less pressure, less taxes, more sun.

Guy has no heart, that was, is, and always will be his number one issue. All the skill in the world but lacking the balls that are needed to be great. Wasted potential

Rangers will stick with him for another year or two of uninspired "Nashty"ness.. then he'll get traded and lead the league in goals... just like Gaborik is doing right now.
