Rick Nash

The guy doesn't seem to care at all. At least Richie trys most of the time, Nash just glides, waits for the puck, and doesn't back check, then he lazily skates to the bench...is that a superstar?

That is not what I'm seeing. Richards is making absolutely NOTHING happen out there as has been the case for all but maybe 1/4 of the season against some truly terrible teams. So how is he putting more effort in when Nash has been generating chances and drawing teams top D? We're criticizing for the spin move but one backhand created a great rebound we couldn't get to because neither D man is ever allowed to play up in the O zone and another where he fed Stepan for a real nice shot at a better angle. He made more out of his spin chances than Cally did off his wide open shot.

But like I said he needs to actually cash in with a goal or another great assist or two because what he's doing now is certainly nowhere near good enough I just don't want to exaggerate or really believe he's yet another utter bust faux superstar while we just had to trade one and will have to buyout another. Bc if I have to deal with yet ANOTHER miserable failure of a superstar someone is getting strangled. I like to give the benefit of the doubt especially if a player has consistently shown something but obviously the last part of the season and now in these 5 PO games the scoring hasn't been coming. It's cause for criticism yes but not something as insane as comparing him to the big Brich

If we lose this series, Nash has to take a good part of the blame. He was acquired to lead our offense and he has done next to nothing in five games.

Nash been nothing more than absolutely worthless. Boyle has been more valuable to the team by far and right now I would scratch Nash over him.

I have no problems with Nash. Ppl need to chill the **** out, really. I don't understand how NYR LOsing is getting Nash all the lame. This hockey,a team sport, not basketball or baseball

I have to think he's nursing an injury.

He looks like he's laboring every-time he goes to the bench.

Trade him to Columbus for Dubi, Anisimov, Erixon and a 1st. Although I doubt Columbus would do that.

he has been doing that since he was on the Jackets... :help:

a goal here and there and we are 3-2 or it's already over. I thought Nash would be good for at least two goals. It's hard being a Ranger fan. Really, really hard.

Superstar Ovechkin is really dominating this series isn't he? 1g, 1a, -3 and coasting on two goals against.

It's the playoffs both teams are doing a good job neutralizing the other teams big guns.

Nash looks slow, maybe nursing something, maybe worn out from being ridden hard all year. Who knows, just excuses he needs to perform. Think he skated much better last night. Don't see the laziness everyone is calling him out for, just my opinion but he always looks like an oaf.

Spin move is a result of the D not letting him drive the net, he's trying to shield the puck for a few extra seconds and set something up, has created a few chances with it. Last night he left it for Stepan and he missed it.

Nash was tired of people thinking he could step it up so he wanted to remind everyone what an overpaid albatross looks like in the playoffs.

Awful. If he's injured he just needs to shoot the ****ing puck instead of trying to wrap it around. Crash the ****ing net. Do something.

What a disappointing performance. I really didn't believe Nash would pull this vanishing act in the playoffs. Unbelievable.

Gabby scored a PPG in Washington last year with NO SHOULDER.

I don't care if he's injured, he's getting paid 7.8 million dollars to be absolutely invisible.

Because if our ****ing "superstar" player had any goals this is a completely different series.

It IS a team game- Nash is not doing his job in contributing to the team and he's making more money than everybody else.

He was the lone threat in Columbus so teams could key on him and now that Gaborik's gone it's the same thing here in NY. If he gets a lot of attention from the opposition's top pair that means other players should have more room, other players who are not scoring enough either.

The games have been close enough where no one realistically expects Nash to have 3 goals and 2 assists in five games. But 1 goal in the series could have put the Rangers up 3 games to 2 instead of Washington.

3 points in 5 games, which is frankly disappointing for a guy making Nash's money, wins us the series if he scores last night or in game 2.

I don't think he'll be invisible in game 6 but he's proven me wrong so far.

How many more seasons do we get to watch Mr. Dick Rash disappear in the playoffs? 6? 7? Not that Callahan or Richards have done anything either. As Ranger fans we should have expected this. It will be sad when these useless idiots drive Lundy to go somewhere else after next season for a little goal support and a chance at a cup.

That's not true. He has skated in, turned his body, and been able to cough the puck up or take a weak back hand into Holtby. That's got to count for something, right?

Nash has brought his losing culture to NY. I was a fan of the trade when it meant we had both Gaborik and Nash. With Nash being the player our team is built around, a perennial loser, and shipping out Gaborik, we took a big step back in the post season.

Oh, Callahan doesn't get a pass. He's been awful. Anyone who thinks Callahan has had a good year is an absolute homer. He was extremely inconsistent this year, and it was a hot streak at the end of the season (for both him and Richards) that made their seasons, statistically, look better than they actually were.

I wanted to smash my head through the wall when I saw Callahan skate it with a huge opportunity and shoot it five feet wide.

And secondly, I'm sick of Callahan being a diver and a whiner. For a guy with so much effort and strength he falls down all the time. And every time he falls, he skates over and pouts to the referee. I didn't notice it until this season.

Nash, Callahan and Richards have all been terrible.

Yeah, definitely wasn't thrilled with Callahan's season either. He had a few nice moments, but was otherwise pedestrian.

I wrote this in another thread...Nash is definitely playing hurt. Dragged his leg throughout the game. Happened at the end of the second period in one of the games at The Garden.

But it's the playoffs...

Well, Gaborik produced more last season playing hurt in the post season, scored some crucial goals, and was still ripped apart.

So... Nash produces absolutely nothing in the post season playing hurt and it's okay?

I'm not saying that you are saying it is. But, the fan base ripped apart Gaborik for that AND he was still substantially better (especially against the Capitals). So, I would love to see the fan base crucify Nash for this pitiful performance too.

It is the shiny new toy syndrome. NYR fans will get on Nash in a few years time too when he will have no help on the roster. And then the Rangers will sign another big name FA and say he was better than previous X star player.

We wer terrible with Gabs this year so that point doesn't stand. If you want to argue he's been bad in these PO's and whatnot hell yea but Gabs sucked this year
