Rick Nash

I recall last season around the trade deadline for days Bob was saying how the Rangers have traded for Nash and a announcement should be made soon. When that turned out to be ******** he pulled the "haha, stupid Rangers fan will believe anything". I stopped following him after that.

They could easily have just said 'lower body injury' without discussing it specifically.

Just like the Rangers did with Girardi right? Oh, wait they didn't because they don't disclose day to day injuries.

Nash dressed for warmup against Washington to "test" the injury. Do players normally test concussions in warmup?

Do they willingly have interviews under strong studio lights as well?

Hurt their head it would, need darkness

:baghead:

As the days pass, its just more and more likely he is concussed.

Makes me not want to watch anything hockey related.

This begins to have a sonnet like quality, imo.

Should we compose sonnets or poems or such to reflect how depressed we will all be when our communal nightmare inevitably becomes common knowledge?

I'm still working, but will contribute later tonight. Who would like to express the depths of their despair first in the form of Sonnet or Poem?

Here's my Haiku:

Rick Nash is concussed
Our season's surely been doomed
His groin is concussed

That sounds truly painful.

I'm glad I'm not feeling his pain.

Back to work.

...oh and thank you for the Haiku. It makes me think of lotus blossoms. Perhaps if we all considered the beautiful lotus blossom for a time, we would all feel less despair.

Not every concussion is a Michael Sauer, Marc Staal situation. Most guys in the league will be out a week or so at the most from a diagnosed concussion. Let's hope it is not this and its just his groin.

Not flying with the team though? Sounds like what I hope it isn't...

Hey! Montreal fan here. Any update on Nash? Seems wierd that he is out 3 games because of beeing "Banged up"? In a short season like this you would expect players like Nash to suck it up if it was just beein banged up, no? Hope its not too serious! Love seeing the guy play, what a beast!

The Rangers policy is to not specify injuries. In the past, at the very least we were told whether it is 'upper body' or 'lower body'.

The Girardi injury last week was the first time I remember the team, and players not even discussing what it could be. Upper body? Lower body? Nothing.

PCS (Post-Concussion Syndrome) does not always show up right away. It can take days, even weeks. If that Lucic hit did cause a concussion, he could have started feeling symptoms a few days later. It might have actually made him feel physically sick (flu like symptoms). The warm-up, and subsequent Washington game could have been him wanting to tough it out, and do whats best for the team. Rick Nash is a tough dude, and a true hockey player. The guy is a warrior, he wants to do what is best for the team. It might not be the most intelligent move, but thats how competitive this guy is, which is a huge reason I love him as a player.

This type of injury isn't an exact science. It's not always easy to initially diagnose, and since that hit wasn't the type that Powe suffered, the medical staff could have not even noticed that it could have done damage. At that point, it comes down to the individual player coming up to a trainer or doctor and telling them they aren't feeling well.

It's all speculation at this point.

It could be his groin, it could be a concussion, it could be anything. Let's hope he's back ASAP.

Eklund is far more reliable. He gets a bad rap being compared to cold-readers all the time.

Eklund is far more Reliable and does in fact have sources. Incarcerated Bob on the other hand... HE blocked me on twitter because I said the Islanders would end up with another top 5 pick. Who can go wrong with that guess.

During your google search did you find any teams that test concussions during warmup?

As HBNYC pointed out if this was a concussion why was Nash interviewed under the "heavy" lighting?

We don't even know if Nash was really sick and who said he had "flu like symptoms"? How do you know he didn't have a stomach flu?

You keep saying Nash could be toughing it out with no proof or ANY evidence that was the case. If you want to say Nash was hiding something in the Islander game ok. He obviously wasn't hiding any symptoms from the Rangers before, during, or after the Washington game....Right? The Rangers at that point would know there is a problem...right?

The Rangers don't disclose day to day injuries and haven't since Torts took over. Last week wasn't the first time the Rangers haven't disclosed an injury. Larry Brooks and the other writers have all voiced frustration with the Rangers team policy on injuries.

It's crazy to say "this type of injury" when we don't even know what the injury is.

I just wanted to point out, if not done so, already, that all the key parts of the Nash trade are currently hurt. Well, except for Erixon, but I said "key". haha

ughh

here's my Haiku:

such a shame for them

I wonder if there's any gin

such a shame for us

lol You know Erixon is somewhere in a padded room where final destination can't get him.
