Have to wonder if Bones comes back at all taking into account his age(didnt realize he was 69-knew he was in his 60's) and family, particularly his wife

It seemed fairly clear when he was hired that it wouldn't be a long tenure either way, Arniel came with him as the heir apparent in what certainly looked like a package deal. So if Bowness decided to retire now, it would probably only mean speeding up the original succession timeline by a year or two at most.
Once they hired Arniel as the assistant head coach I had a bad feeling he would be the heir apparent to Rick as the new head coach. What an uninspiring choice.
Ask Columbus fans what they think of Arniel.
Ask Columbus fans about any of their coaches... Torts is the only one who's managed to squeeze any decent run of hockey out of that team in 23 seasons.Once they hired Arniel as the assistant head coach I had a bad feeling he would be the heir apparent to Rick as the new head coach. We loved Torts and are currently quite happy with Vincent. Dropping in to say Godspeed with Arniel. I wouldn’t wish him on the Penguins.Ask Columbus fans about any of their coaches... Torts is the only one who's managed to squeeze any decent run of hockey out of that team in 23 seasons.
I guess there is always a possibility that Bowness decides that he is done and Arniel finishes the season, but that doesn't mean that Arniel automatically becomes the HC going forward.
That may be true but hypothetically let's say Bones does decide in a month or so that he is done and not coming back, Arniel takes over putting his fingerprints on the team and the team nose dives. I think they both have a rethink about letting him continue as HC next year.I don't think they've been subtle about Arniel replacing Bowness eventually. Both Cheveldayoff and Chipman have alluded to it.

He wouldn’t be on my top 5 despite his success with the Moose. His tenure with CBJ wasn’t too awe inspiring at all lolWe loved Torts and are currently quite happy with Vincent. Dropping in to say Godspeed with Arniel. I wouldn’t wish him on the Penguins.
Yep he’d be great for this team.A lot of people won't like this but I'd like to see Q coaching here.
Why? He is also a dinosaur, but with a really messy past of unethical behaviour in terms of leading a coverup of sexual misconduct of his staff.Yep he’d be great for this team.
Q AND Babs. Dead serious.A lot of people won't like this but I'd like to see Q coaching here.
Because we need someone to start emotionally abusing our prospects to turn them into real men?Q AND Babs. Dead serious.

Then you have to paint Cheveldayoff with the same brush. Why? He is also a dinosaur, but with a really messy past of unethical behaviour in terms of leading a coverup of sexual misconduct of his staff.
