I agree, but the convo started about RHP stealing those players development time...No one, including the organization, is holding their breath for Sean Farrell.
I know we haven't been in this stage before, but we have accumulated so many draft picks and drafted so many players with NHL level tools and aspirations, that nothing is relying on Sean Farrell or Riley Kidney to become NHL fixtures for us.
Under Bergevin, they would have been two of the more critical prospects for us.
We have the luxury of slow burning their development in the AHL and see if they can develop and force some decisions down the line. If they don't, nothing is lost.
Farrell was one of our best players last year, he got injured but still had a .6 ppg which if he did that over 76 games would be 46 pts, how many Hab prospects over the last 20 years have put up over 45 pts in their rookie year? The list isn't very long.Ferrell and Kidney have done very little in the AHL despite being very promising when drafted.

Kidney in his rookie year had a .31 ppg in 65 games
They have one goal combined this year so far...
The dreaded sophomore slump! I mean, obviously I want them to succeed as it's what's best for the Habs but I just don't see them become anything special.for whatever reason some players struggle in their sophomore season, some players start the season slowly, some players get snake bit. Farrell has not looked good to start out but the last few games he's playing his best hockey of the season and has been one of the few creating chances as Laval has a a lot of problems generating quality scoring chances outside a small handful of players this year.
My point was you saying he's done very little in the AHL, when last year he clearly was much better then Kidney and if you go by ppg, he had a very solid rookie year. Can he rebound or will he just struggle to produce this year, we'll have to see.
I didn’t. 2 goals in 44 games I believe. They should’ve just sent him down instead of a conditioning stint. He’s not bumping anyone out on the Habs anyway. Are people forgetting how bad RHP was last season?

Maybe just one since they have only 22 on the roster. With RHP and Laine coming back will they have to send 2 guys down to Laval
