If we take moving multiple players off the table as an avenue for bringing on PK, then one of the following would need to be moved:
Alex Killorn
Ondrej Palat
Anthony Cirelli
Mikhail Sergachev
Erik Cernak
Brayden Point

Which of those is worth losing for PK Subban in 2022? (Mind you, I'm open to debate as I don't know how good he is playing this year, but I'm quite skeptical it's a net addition).
I would assume Palat woukd have to be the piece from those names. Killorn next? With double retention is that necessary? And if not what do you see as a possible return for Jersey?

If the piece is Palat, then Subban needs to be retained down to Palat's cap hit of 5.3M. If it's Killorn, then a 2nd retention would be needed of, like, 50k. I think if we trade either of those guys before the offseason, we'd be seriously messing with the locker room and that's before we consider what asset has more value. Personally, I suspect both have quite a bit more value than Subban, but I don't know where Subban is at or where GMs and pro scouts put the respective players.

I think you're better off shopping him to someone that can fit him without it getting so convoluted.

I agree, Devs fans are hoping for prospects (or a pick) that are being crowded by vets, so the fit is not great. We are open to taking back a contract but you guys end up giving pcs that help you win now.

Tampa, FL.
Zub is a top 4 Dmen with a 2.5 mil caphit for next year as well Id even be willing to retain 50% for a 1st round pick. Yeah its not Ideal for Ottawa but he can play with Chabot on the top pairing and hes been decent.
I'd be interested in Zub as a Tampa fan, but most Ottawa fans seem not that interested in moving him. With Tampa's cap situation, it would almost have to be with 50% retention unless Tampa moved multiple players. Even then, Tampa would have to send Rutta as part of the trade to make the cap work. If Tampa found a 3rd team to eat another 400-600k, then the roster player going to Ottawa could be a few different players, but Zub's extra year would likely complicate retention deals. If Tampa just dealt with Ottawa, it would have to be Zub@50% for Rutta, 1st+additional pickprospects, or if a 3rd team then Tampa could offer a 1st+roster player/pick/prospect, plus whatever they'd have to pay a 3rd team for this season and next for the additional 400-600k worth of retention. It could be possible, but complex.

What RHD are available at the TDL that could be a cheap pickup for the Bolts who are severely lacking on the right side especially with Cernak and Bogo being injury prone this season.

Guessing someone like Joseph or Raddysh/Katchouk could be available for the right player, as well as our 1st this year or next

I know he's not a RD, but would TB be interested in Chara, he's only making $750K and he could be good in your playoff run.

Luke Schenn? He's been a solid #6 for the Canucks, would love to keep him around but if an offer is made thats worth trading him, its a no brainer. We also have Hamonic

Hose would know better than I would, but I think we're top heavy enough that there really aren't players being crowded out--they're earning their keep on the lower lines, at the moment. I could see JBB move one of them if we got a net addition back in the short term (one would almost certainly have to go if we're in on Crouse as rumored).

Sure Cleasson + 6th for Chara?
Does Claesson's cap count towards the big club?

Yeah we don't have any top 6 prospects that are being blocked. We really don't have any prospects with true top 6 potential. We have a couple who could become 2nd liners but that's if everything goes perfectly for them. The one player who could be available but it won't be till the summer because he's playing too good now is Joseph. He is due a new contract this summer and while we want to keep him he might be looking for a bigger payday than what we can offer. So he may be a cap casualty cause I doubt we would trade Killorn to keep Joseph and I think we make a push to keep Palat as well.

It does when he's on the main roster. But he's only been on the main roster because of injuries so when everyone is healthy he's on the taxi squad or in Syracuse and his contract doesn't count. His inclusion is to move a contract 1 for 1 and if we bring in another LD he most certainly won't be back on the main roster again, so this gives him a chance to play somewhere else. But I can't see us bringing in another D or even a forward unless we have a long term injury. We would have to move a Katchouk or Raddysh to fit a player in and I don't see us moving them for a rental because we will need their cheap contracts going forward.

Can’t say I’ve watched any Arizona games, so maybe the eye test doesn’t match it, but Lybushkin has a really good defensive metrics (looking at jfresh player cards). Think he’d be a good fit and not a huge cap hit and a UFA after the year. Maybe a guy to target if JBB can get creative again with his no cap space.

Any deal to be made to get Artem Zub from Ottawa? Two years left at 2.5m.
