I think ideally it's a player with term.

Nemec can't demand big money. He's under contract and cost controlled on an entry level contract.

You're playing well. You're not going to win the cup.

Send us Zach. We need another weapon.

Nemec is a stud. It's early, but my gut tells me he's going to be a top pairing defenceman.

It seems like he works with your window. If he was on another team, he'd be an NHL starter.

I don't want to trade him, but I think Werenski would be a filthy addition to NJD.

Yeah, the cap. We have contracts we can move in another trade.

I don't think you have any semblance of understanding about what players are worth.

Well, why don't you educate me

A Norris candidate (borderline Hart candidate) just entering his prime, with three years left on his deal after this one, is going to be worth more than anyone on the Devils, with the likely exception of Jack Hughes. [TSN rates Werenski as the 11th best player this year and J Hughes as the 19th, but Hughes is younger]. Prospects are not in the right value category, you can't get a player like this for a Nemec or even two or three of them.

I agree. Guy is filthy.

This is a very impressive used car salesman-esque approach.

Faulk may fit the bill. I’d guess Army would want to just get different looks at this point. Think he has 2 years after this one though. May be a bit lengthy of a contract as opposed to your criteria.

Don’t watch a lot of Jackets games, but it could be a pretty good fit for him.

Issue is we’re pretty thin in RHD and there aren’t many looking to be available soon.

You may be right. I thought Cassidy's offensive system was pretty free flowing, Grzelcyk, McAvoy, Bergeron, Pastrnak and Marchand were amazing to watch roaming and interchanging, but I don't know how you'd use Carlo or who you'd play him with.

Carlo plays best with puck moving defensemen like Lindholm, Grzelcyk and Krug. I think his struggles this year are because he hasn't had a partner like that with Lindholm out. When Lindholm was in the lineup, the Lindholm-Carlo pair has a 61.1 xG% despite getting 80% Dzone starts and playing against everyone's top line.
He paired with Werenski on the US Jr Team in 2015-16 and they were on the team together 2014-15.

Can't see CBJ doing this trade unless you add.

If you want an RHD rental for cheap, Rutta would probably cost a 4th at the most. If you want an RHD with an extra year, the Sharks have Liljegren who can move the puck and would probably only cost a 3rd. There ought to be other options out there but the Sharks will listen if you’re willing to settle on either of those options.

Would say Savard for a 2nd but idk if Montreal will do it until they're totally out of the race, especially with Guhle likely done for the year

Isn't Rutta out until post four-nations though? edit- i guess that could be as few as 3 games forgot how close we were to kick off

cbj fans love david savard (and for good reason!) -- wouldn't mind him or rutta as a stopgap fabbro replacement in the event that he's out long-term.

the devils should trade jack hughes to columbus for cole sillinger. i'd hate to move a homegrown center like sillinger, but he competes hard and would fill a need for the devils and would free up some cap for the devils. in the meantime, hughes would make a good #2 behind fantilli and probably help our power play a bit.

Attack my idea.
it was never about your (bad) idea (which is bad), it's that no one wants to engage with this rote, formulaic trolling:
  1. post something so dumb that it cannot possibly be taken at face value
  2. respond to the inevitable backlash with "debate me bro"
  3. walk around acting like the lack of takers proves that everyone's intimidated by your 'intellect'

Savard at this point doesn't meet the "Is he substantially better than Jordan Harris?" benchmark. The Jackets will just play Harris.

Fabbro wasn't the only player injured last night - Marchenko just had surgery today for a broken jaw. He's been carrying the Blue Jackets offense. They're cooked without him. They won't be paying picks for anyone short term.

I would stick with options we have, we are not there yet, definitely not after losing Marchy for 2 months. so i dont see any point in giving up assets for a rentals. Guddy will be back soon, until then we can rotate Harris and Johnson in 3rd pair with Christiansen or even test Hunt up there for a few games.

Cant see us as a buyers right now and i will not be surprised to see Provy, JVR and maaaaaaaybe Kuraly moved at TDL.
