I heard no booing of the anthem, in fact the singer got a nice ovation after singing the us anthem even though he kind of butchered it. Sometimes people want to hear something and hear things that are not there because of it.

You clearly don't understand that it isn't taking a shot at anything to do with the bombings. My god people are so easily offended these days it's ridiculous

You're not the one who had the sign are you?

I'm a hell of a lot younger than the guy holding the sign. I just understand the difference between taking a shot at the bombings and a tongue in cheek sports sign. Just like I didn't find the "Boston Strong, Toronto Stanley" sign to be offensive on Saturday night that was actually on stage at MLSQ

When you're older you'll understand that what you may not find offensive others will. Hopefully when the guy who had the sign, he wasn't very old either, grows up he'll get some sensitivity training.

The sign didn't offend me but I could see how some would be.

If you're already on that end of the arena it's sort of hard. You either enter the ACC from Maple Leaf Square, or walk through into the gate at Union, but that's a zoo as well. The only good thing is we went into the ACC at like 5:45 so there was no line at all, it was just getting through the square that sucked.

Tomorrow I'll try going in through Bay Street.

Got tickets to the first home leafs playoff game in 9 years, had to make my way through a HUGE crowd.

I'm 21.... I'm not a child that doesn't understand what the slogan stands for, I just understand there's a very big difference between that and something like "were goons bomb you Boston" which is hat this is being made out to be

I was downtown at about 2 pm yesterday - wanted to take the entire experience in.

Chilled out at the tailgate party right up until about 6 where we headed inside the ACC.

The entire vibe and atmosphere and energy was amazing. Obviously I was inside when the game was on, but I bet, just based on what it was like pre-game, that it was absolutely bananas outside during the game as well.

I'm definitely planning on going to the tailgate and MLSQ for game 4. Why not?

Just a tip though - line up early.

what time does the tailgate area officially open and realistically what time would one have to show up to get in?

Can i show up at 5pm and expect to get in? Or does this madness require you to line up at like 3pm?

9 Years ago, i was gladly getting front row seats at my favorite bar for leafs playoff games around 3pm, but these days with work, its a pain in the ass to do the same again :(

I arrived at Maple Leafs Square at 4:50, and while the line was ridiculously long (It wrapped around the block!) I had no problems getting in. The area officially opens at 5pm.

The place was crazy! I had so much fun even though we lost.

im late to the party but it was obvious the signs were taking the wrong way. I highly doubt that it was meant to mean anything about the bombings.

The same people offended by the signs and hating the guy, are the same people who probably find the "Vancouver needs to be blown up!" topic title in NHL general talk offensive too right?

I will admit it is a dumb sign and can easily be seen different, but to get so offended about it you have to talk mad **** about the guy lol.

yeah wearing a Bruins jersey going to a Leafs tailgate party isn't stupid at all

just saying, if this was football aka soccer, you'd get your ass kicked
guaranteed

People can support whatever team they want to, where ever they want. Getting in potential fights over what team you support is pathetic.

& The games are as followed...

Giving the guy the benefit of the doubt, I don't think the sign was intended to mock Boston or the victims/injured that were caused by the recent bombings. I think he was trying to use what is a recent Boston slogan and applying his own meaning to it in a sports 'trash talk' sort of way. I do still think he's dumb because he was clearly unable to use better judgement and recognize how insensitive and ill-timed such a word play would be. I can't tell people what to be offended by but there are far worse things happening around us for us to put our energy into being angry and volatile about than some wods on a bristol board. We should pity his stupid decision and move along rather than reward his stupidity with so much social media coverage. At the end of the day, I'd much prefer a guy who shows his stupidity with his words over a guy who shows his stupidity with his fists. The world is much a safer place that way anyhow.
