The first cuts are in. Bottomofthefoodchain loses Adam Erne (a 2nd rounder. Ouch!), and I lost Michael Dal Colle. To be honest, I took him begrudgingly as he had great numbers wherever he played, but he never did anything when I watched him, including tonight. I guess the Team Canada staff had a similar experience.

I'm sure there'll be more cuts to come and Sweden is bound to lose someone to injury in the Canada game, as is always the case. :sarcasm:

I have a tough choice between two guys I am looking at closely. As the replacement for MDC, I will select David Kampf of the Czech Republic.

Should we not wait until all the rosters are finalized now before making redraft picks? Someone else could have a higher picked player be injured or cut before the tournament giving them first choice.

I actually just had this same discussion with the guy who runs the other pool I'm in. It's an interesting question, but keep in mind, the longer we wait to make our compensation picks, the more we are going to see the pre-comp games, and the better idea we will have as to how the lines shake down, and which teams and players are playing well. In other words, the longer you wait, the more of an advantage you have, and I don't think teams that have had players cut should get an edge. I think we did it the right way (which was what we chose last year, actually), by picking immediately with BOTFC choosing before me because of his higher pick.

Would not surprise me, actually.
He's still very much a bubble player on that team, but there's actually a big factor on his side. The fact is he still has his eligibility for both Canada and the US, so whoever first grants him a spot in a legitimate IIHF tourney gets his rights in perpetuity. I'm sure the USA staff has this in the back of their minds.

So whats the word on the sexy watermarks on our point tables this year? ;)
I have another treat in store for the boys this year instead of the watermarks. I am still working on it, and I hope to have something to show you by tonight or tomorrow.

I think much of the preliminary work is done. I need someone to take a look at my work and give me some feedback, and check if everything actually works. I need someone to volunteer for a sneak peak. First come first serve, but a person from this pool only, please.

Thank you very much Statsy Clause! I'll be sure to fill this out today!

Statsy Clause! Love it!

By the way, it looks like Kylington is out with an injury. Sickest Flo Bro had him. Please draft a replacement at your earliest convenience.
