With this expected hard forecheck the forwards are going to need to help out here. First man back has to get in position to do one of two things, puck support if the d man wins the race and has the puck. Coverage if the d man loses the battle.

One thing Dallas started to feast in was the soft play around the boards, thye jumped past the forward so many times and kept possession. If the d get isolated on an island there will be turnovers for sure.

Meanwhile the Oilers have added Henrique, Perry, Holloway, Brown, Broberg and Carrick (essentially replacing Yamamoto, Kostin and Bjugstad). The Oilers could smoke this opponent. The West was much tougher than the East this year. For some reason the Eastern pundits and gamblers (fueled by takes from "experts") think the Panthers should be favored. I personally think the Panthers would have lost series to the Canucks and Dallas. This is going to be fun. The TV networks want an epic 7 gamer. I think this will be Oilers in 4 or 5 if McDavid and Leon go ham and the rest of the team defends like madmen. Skinner need to be just Keumper level ok.

This is a good point. With better goaltending management we beat Vegas, who comfortably dispatched Florida.

Also this year our team is clearly better than last year's team while Florida is the same.

This is a different Panthers team. Last year they limped into the playoffs, this year they have been one of the best teams in the NHL

They were the 8th seed but were on fire to finish the year. There was a point where they were written off completely
