Speculation: Report: Rangers inquired about Canucks' Miller

It happens all the time where one team asks about the availability of another.

I admit I’m being overzealous by saying it doesn’t deserve a thread, but there’s no credibility saying he’s going to move. Like I said before, JT is as important to the Canucks as Igor or Fox is to the Rangers. After the debacle around his extension, then Petey’s extension, and even Hronek’s extension, Canuck fans just want to be happy with their stars without other fans thinking they can poach them for scraps.
What does it matter what we fans think and post here? Rumour: Rangers called on Miller. Likely other clubs called too. Now we (fans) get the fun part about suggesting trades, that won’t happen.
Rangers need a shake up. Zib + Schneider for Miller + Hoglander.

I don’t think he’s a tradeable asset until more information comes out. Could be a terminal illness usually that’s the first thing I think of when I hear “indefinite leave of absence”.

I can’t see the Nucks trading Coach’s Pet Miller. But if they did they could get a haul that could make their team better by chemistry alone. Boston needs a 1C. NYR just needs a huge shakeup.

Zibanajed is having a rough go in NY. I could see him healing with fellow Swede Petey under the Swedish regime in Vancouver.
Rather trade him for Lindholm+ then

Underwhelming Lindholm that you guys already had? Dude was mediocre for the Flames, mediocre for the Nucks, and now mediocre for the Bs. I’d aim higher if moving Miller, his stock went way up in the playoffs.

#1 -- you going where you went is contrary to how I framed it, obv
I did not say there was automatically a problem, and if there was, that JT had to go.

There was a published report that more than insinuated and solidly inferred it might be due to JTm - EP having a conflict. Most did not say this was certainly true, and proceeded, as i did, with IF IF IF it were true, what does that mean.

You properly chimed in with your understanding, to extent you are personally aware, is the publ report is wrong.
That very well may be. Clickbait happens.
I am unaware either way.
But as long as it does not misrepresent something possible for something actual, nobody has to get their privates in an uproar.
Relax.

Unless a guy is a known scumbag who slewfoots, etc., I am behind proper position is to hope whatever is bothering a player, that they can overcome it and get back to being focused on hockey. Same here w/JT.

2. Players issues' impact value: zib now is not the same zib a yr, even months ago, and it seems to be mental funk -> snakebit, and not physical.
JT needing personal time is a thing. It may be a small thing, or like Zib, it may turn into a big thing. Remains to be seen.

3. We all speculate about deals, and do so under actual/perceived conditions. Some agree, others challenge. That is healthy debate.
To your good health, my friend. And those of players on teams we love.

4. We are not Rags. Rangers, nyr for abbreviation, or Rs for short.
But not Rags.
thank you
Rags has been there nickname since 1926 get over it

Well it’s either drug abuse, terminal illness or legal issues right? Why else would he sacrifice millions. Maybe I’m missing something.
According to Bisonnette it's a beef with Pettersson. Both of them not getting along or something of that nature. Taken with a grain of salt obviously. If true I don't understand why Miller is the one having to course correct rather than a mopey, petulant Petey. I'd rather have the fierce, motivated, loud mouth Miller over what Petey has become.

Petey isn't that strong mentaly.

You wonder. Miller wants a break to go relax. Petersson starts producing and looks happier.

I think it's well known that they have not been the closest of pals but I can't imagine a world where Pettersson is capable of making Miller take an indefinite leave. Petey is soft as butter on and off the ice.

There is no way that Vancouver would let Miller sit-out games due to any potential beef..

It’s also Miller, if it was a locker room issue it would be known. Lots of unsubstantiated speculation for a guy whom is likely dealing with a non-hockey related issue in one of the toughest hockey markets.

I think that should reflect on Hughes. That’s his job as captain
