Rempe speaks

The ECHL level player who still thinks he will play in the nhl, gives his opinions of his actions:

"Im so big, i can get going" lmao
It's wild that this plug has commanded this much time and attention.

I fully expect him to do something stupid against the devils tonight.

Rempe better not tune up any Devils tonight; if he does there could be hell to pay! I think his time in the NHL is limited and he will be a full time AHL'er by next year

Good for him, bit late to learn how to talk but we shouldn’t judge. Now if he can just learn to stop being a piece of shit, that’d be great.

Seriously though, it’s like someone made him memorize a script. He’s just gonna do a different dumb thing next time.

The biggest mistake Rempe (& maybe the Rangers org) made was not emphasizing the importance of him becoming an effective player first and foremost. If I was the coach, I'd be telling him nonstop how much of a beast he would be if he sharpens his tools defensively and learns to play a simple, effective game as to not be a liability out there. His reputation is there already, people have their heads on a swivel when he's on the ice and everyone knows he can fight. He really has nothing to prove from that standpoint. I hope he sticks around because the league is more fun with a guy like that, as controversial as he may be.

He's a young player who probably did not expect to be in the NHL at this stage of his career and he's riding that high, even to these rough edges.

He was in Hartford for a bit, presumably to get bigger minutes in all situations than just the single digits he was getting in the NHL. Granted, his offense hasn't taken a step--looks to be roughly plateaued. at the moment.

I remember going to a Rangers game last year and the team was incredibly flat. Rempe went out for a shift, hustled, landed a couple hits, got the crowd into it, and he got the team going from there. For a guy his size, he skates pretty well and plays with energy. It's just that hustle gets him into some bad places.

He does still need to develop and be smarter, but the organization sees a value in what he brings already. He gets the rest of the team playing harder, and I'm sure Dolan doesn't mind selling some extra jerseys and shirts.

Rempe averages a suspension/ejection once every 7.98 mins. I’m sure the number is exponentially higher for Devils games. Interested to see how tonight plays out.

The biggest mistake is that they had ass for a 4th line and called up a 21 year old who wasn't ready for the NHL. The most he's played is when they sent him back and a somewhat development plan took place, giving him actual minutes. He was always seen as a very likely NHL player, but his work ethic (and size) is what made the organization jump him over other players. You took a player who wasn't as skilled, didn't have great skating balance, didn't get a ton of minutes, and threw him in a faster pace environment, with a memo that says "Play hard and fast to stay in the lineup."
