Confirmed with Link: Rempe Re-signed 2 Years @ $1M AAV

So happy for this kid. Fighting against all odds to stay in the league in a position that has been reduced dramatically. Lacks talent, skill, lacks hockey sense, and lacks a few brain cells but is in the show with the tools he was given. Size, and a ton of heart, and a great attitude.

The questions is. Is a head coach that doesn't normally employ overly physical players going to let him run? Hoping for the best for Rempe, but fearing we will see lots of scratches and a reduced role overall.
Has better talent than people think imo. Just needs to learn how to pivot and stop better.

Good work to get a 4th/13F signed like this. Plenty of room for growth, but he has to remain on the roster going forward. Must pass through waivers to be sent down, so he's one of the 13 forwards for next year.

Othmann and Berard don't require waivers, so he has a leg up on both of them in that regard.

I think there's some pretty massive holes in his game, and the ridiculous amount of penalties he takes in such little ice time needs to be fixed. That being said, I'll always give this kid credit for working really hard and always trying to improve.

It's shaping up to be a really crowded bottom-6, and he's going to have to earn that full-time spot. I like that he's already here and training for next year.

Honestly speaking I don’t think Sullivan is going to have much time for him, especially with better options knocking on the door.

The one thing that works against him is that he can’t kill penalties.

He’ll be a 13th forward sooner rather than later.

He's very fast. One of the fastest skaters on the team. I think that will endear him to Sullivan on a team of plodders.

Does the deal have a NTC/NMC?
I know others have given the legitimate reason it doesn't have an NTC and/or an NMC...

...but we know that, for all intents and purposes, the nanosecond after he dropped the gloves with Matt Martin in his first NHL game...he had a nonverbal NTC/NMC added to his Rangers' career.

Brooks mentioning that this takes Rempe out of offer sheet territory is laughable.

I don't think anyone on the Rangers would lose sleep if Rempe was given an offer sheet.

He has zero agility and takes a ton of bad penalties and penalties that aren’t penalties.

The lack of ability to do anything on STs is killer though. Hard to justify playing him when there are guys coming up who can.

No reason he can be used in new situations. He's 22. I don't think he's a finished product personally. What's the harm in parking him in front of the goalie on the power play? and he's at least got the reach and willingness to block a shot where maybe it could work on the PK. Someone will have to step in to Kreider's minutes there.

it takes longer for him to turn than it does to get a drink between periods at the garden. That won’t work on the PK, he would get toasted. Edstrom profiles way better to take the minutes Kreider is opening up anyway.

He isn’t going to be used on the PP and PP1 plays most of the time anyway.

He’s improved his edges and turns over the course of last season but yes, Edstrom is still better suited to get PK time next season
