Yes, the guy who drew 3 penalties in the same game he got suspended from can’t play hockey.

Hilarious hearing Devils fans talk about homerism when it comes to Rempe. Your team traded for a plug to deal with him because he rocked a few of your players last season. Your fans are spooked by him.
This is comedy gold.

Your team signed Reaves to deal with Tom Wilson after the "horrifying acts of violence" that had Rangers fans and the front office rending garments and clutching pearls

I recall some Rangers fans claiming he was good because his analytics looked good over a couple game sample size with very few minutes played and using it to justify him being in the lineup.

The sample size is now more robust and his underlying numbers are awful. What is the justification now?

Kick them all out.

Don't need players that think that injuring a player is part of the job
Agreed. Hit to hurt, not to injure. It's a fine line, but players need to know where it is.

Whats funny (in a not funny sense of the word) is id argue Rempe wasn't trying to hit to injure on this play. He's just a dumbass and that's exactly what he did.

There is no number of games suspension that fits that behaviour. That is what he is there for and every day of NHL salary is his reward. Without that he never sees the NHL at all.

There needs to be punishment for the coach, GM and team that put him out there. Suspend the coach for as many games as the player gets. Fine the GM that many days pay. Team forfeits 1st rd draft picks.

Was this worse than Reeves knocking Nurse silly?

Reaves played 900 games and has been suspended 4 times. Rempe has played 22 games and been suspended twice. Reaves doesn’t go out and intentionally try to injure players while playing a heavy game. The acts are not what determined the two suspension lengths here.

He got suspended for an elbow to the head. This hit had an elbow to the head. Everything else is identical except on this hit it was more numbers. But that's not why he was suspended. Both hits are a clear example of charging or boarding.

"A boarding penalty occurs when a player pushes, checks, or makes physical contact with a defenseless or vulnerable opponent and sends him dangerously or violently into the boards."

I know the Lybushkin hit was dangerously or violently into the boards because he ended up with a gd concussion on a hit he clearly wasn't ready for by a dude who took more than 4 strides and JUMPED into an elbow to the head.

Both should have been a suspension.
No, he got suspended for multiple violations. They're not the same hit no matter how hars you try to make them comparable. The argument that Rempe should have received a suspension for that hit is a different argument.
