I don't play this game (Maybe I should, maybe a good hobby) but every time I see the thread title I think Pokemon and Pikachu. Then I wonder what does Pokemon have to do with Hockey.

Took me all day to think of PHI/BUF as ai knew Briere and Ristolainen would have tanked my score

When I copied it uniqueness said 10, now it says 12. I see that ANA/LA and CAR/LA raised one percent between-

One day they will have a “Canadian player”, or “goalie” for Carolina that Ayers can be selected for. I’ve seen both criteria’s used before, just need the stars to align
Didn’t think it would happen this fast

It's good to remember other sides of the famous trades.

Therefore Christer Olsson is a pick for OTT/STL and Craig Johnson for LA/STL

A new personal best uniqueness score of 2 (!!), but I feel like I should lose some points just from not using David Ayres...

This is by far my personal best, with a big thanks to EA NHL games of the early 00's.

"Calder Trophy Winner" nuked my score (why do so many people remember Raycroft's Calder??? SMH), by my own personal rules for this game, I can't just look up a list of award winners, I have to start with a player. And for some reason, I was reasonably confident that Theo Fleury won the Calder... :thumbd:

Really surprised that Fukufuji as a Kings goalie is more common than Bernier as a Canadian goalie. Guess everyone loves an answer to a trivia question.
That is 100% why I didn't use Fukufuji, everyone remembers his name, filed away in their brains as "obscure goalie with a funny name". Similar reason I didn't use David Ayers, literally everyone was waiting for the chance... :eyeroll:

I thought I was clever by choosing Matt Berlin, the Oilers EBUG that played the final 2 minutes of a game last year, yet was still 0.2%. When you have enough people that are trying to be clever in this game you get to the point where the answer is no longer clever.

Had a laugh from the BOS+MON square:

I used Patrick Traverse.

Circa trade deadline 2001, there was an overzealous Montreal fan who kept making Eric Weinrich trade threads. He kept expecting Weinrich to fetch top prospects, 1sts, etc. One thread in particular, he suggested that the Devils trade Alexander Mogilny (in the midst of a 43 goal season) for Weinrich.

Fan didn't quite understand that while Weinrich was playing 24-25 minutes a night for Montreal that he wouldn't be logging that sort of ice time for other clubs. Mix in that he was a 34 year old impending UFA. But the fan remained incredulous and maintained that he'd be "proven" right when Weinrich was traded for a huge bounty.

Then he was traded to Boston for forgettable 26 year old depth defenseman Patrick Traverse. We all had a good laugh that day.
