What does this mean
It’s unclear what condition he had. Initial reports were some ischemic heart disease which really doesn’t make any sense for a world class athlete. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy would make way more sense for sudden cardiac death in an athlete. That disease is almost always genetic, so he probably had it his whole life.


Either that or the doping allegations were true and that led to the inflammation of his heart and a different type of cardiomyopathy which could have also been the cause of death.
 
I don't really see the point of dredging this up again. It's not like we traded him for Ken Hodge.
 
I don't think you meant it this way and maybe I'm reading it wrong but this comes off very inappropriately to me.

It's just the opposite. "I'm sorry Cherepanov died because he would have made my team so much better."

That's what's inappropriate.

Ok, I misread the post, as I mentioned I might have, I apologize. But I don't think that's the only reason most fans are sad that he died.
