Interesting that they used Beck today while he was in the Slafkovsky group, not a lot of centers available for tomorrow apart from Dach... Maybe Monahan is ready to go...
They played all the Junior players today I believe, except for Sobolev.

The centers for tomorrow, unless Suzuki or Monahan plays, should be Dach, Hillis, Stapley and Dubé going by the previous scrimmage games. Tomorrow line-up should be something like:

Pitlick/Dach/Heineman
Caufield/Hillis/Slaf
RHP/Stapley/Hoffman
Pez/Dubé/Abbandonato
with Beauregard/Saulnier/Poirier/Francis as possible wingers too

Matherson-Barron
Ghule-Harris
Galipeau - Centorame

Allen
Desrosiers (or Coulombe/Vbertic)

Hopefully I didn't forget anyone who didn't play today...

The only hype is the one we created
Really?

“He’s a new style of NHL type of defenceman,” assistant GM Trevor Timmins said after the Canadiens drafted the Swedish defenceman. “Great skater, moves pucks. We expect big things from him.”

Damn some pretty harsh words for Norlinder in here, pretty early in his development to be so quick to write him off.
Will be 23 at the end of this year. In any normal case, that's 5 years after a regular draft year.

Frankly, in this board, being harsh 5 years after a normal draft year is quite....late...lol

There’s absolutely no way Caufield plays with an AHL C on the 2nd line for a pre-season game lol

Those other teams have to be Columbus (Timmins) and Kings (Bergevin). I’m assuming Shane Churla (Florida) knows better.
Lets do norlinder to the wings for zadina , sounds fair no? ;)ets try to pound the "Swedes defensemen unlocks late" to Detroit kinda bait. Lol they have history with swedes... and some said Norlinder is the next lidstrom in frolunda if i recall.

I based myself on the list @morhilane provided. Arguably, you could switch the top 2 line wingers if you want.
I just made the list based on the previous scrimmage lineups trying to fill holes with those who haven't played today.

And it's probably going to be Caufield/X/Hoffman, X was Mesar the last two days, but I doubt he plays again tomorrow. I don't see the problem with having an AHLer there until Suzuki suit up and take the spot. Saying that, he might not even play tomorrow (and neither will Hoffman) and the Habs will throw an AHL line-up + Dach/Pitlick to the wolves Devils.

Doesn't pre-season game have a minimum NHLers requirements?

100%

I was never on that train because he was passed over by every team through 7 rounds in his draft year.

He didn't do anything particularly well.
A seasoned vet was barely noticeable.
Should tell St Louis they shouldn't be too hyped about that Parayko guy

(Norlinder has been severely disappointing though - I don't expect much more from him. Seems like an even worse bet than Nygren was at this stage).

And? How is that creating hype?

He's describing the type of player he is. Nowhere does he say they except him to be an impact player right away.

He's barely played any games here, sure 5 years...2 of which wee interrupted.

He's not going to make the team and I don't think that's a huge surprise, he needs some time in Laval...

That's what a farm team is for. You're always going on about development, well this is it,

Slafkovsky - Abbandonato - Caufield

Have to think, based on today's lines, Caufield and Hoffman play together and Pitlick and Dach play together. MSL wants to start seeing if those combos will work to start the season, hence starting the Dvorak and Evans lines complete with vets today.

But Anderson is injured. Heineman would be a good sub in. I'd bet Slaf and RHP stay together. Maybe Beck or Mesar get in again tomorrow between them. Maybe Stapley.

Expecting BIG THINGS is not describing a type of player.

History shows us that when you need some kind of proactivity to deal a prospect before he's worth nothing or close to...(Tinordi, Beaulieu, McCarron....) Maybe with the new kind of development, it will work out. And obviously, if today, holding on to him is a much better value than what the return could be...hold on to him.

Yup, and I'm sure on D, they want to keep Parker and Jones together too. ;)

I compared Leskinen and Nygren at the same age, and both guys had better offensive seasons at 21 in a pro league. It was their calling card, the offense, it should be Norlinder as well. So something needs to happen soon before he is overtaken in the system.

Would be good to evaluate him in a stretch of games first imo

It's definitely a pivotal year for him, lets see how things go in Laval
