This is how I see the special teams:

(Screener/bumper) Perron/Fabbri

DeBrincat/Sprong - Larkin/Compher - Raymond/Berggren

(pointmen) Gostisbehere/Seider

1st power-play in colors.

Larkin, Perron, Seider and Raymond were Top4 in PP minutes at last season. I think DeBrincat is the new 5th guy to upgrade the first unit and Gostisbehere also has potential to be more productive than Seider.

Sprong will probably play the same spot as DeBrincat, on 2nd PP unit.

Don't you have to take Fabbri out and put Ras on that second unit?

Raz is certainly a taller screen, but he hasn't scored a PP goal since his rookie season. He always tries to turn around with the puck and gets stripped, I don't see him on the PP unless he learned some new tricks over the summer.

Berggren is never getting any Selke votes but you’re overstating what a defensive liability he is. He’s not terrible, it’s just not where his strengths are at.

Also Compher DID get Selke votes, and he’ll have 2 defensemen on the ice with him. We’ll be fine.

You want Compher (or Copp) getting the puck in our zone then to Berggren, and Berggren to Sprong to finish the play. It’s not rocket science.

Berggren is actually great at anticipating loose pucks, he reacts fast and gets a jump on the defender most times and in many cases arriving free and clear because of that high level anticipation. Mostly an offensive zone situation, but he has abilities and reads the game defensively well. Never seen him as bad in this department, obviously at his size and stage of his career he's not going to likely be great.

This kid needs to get more oppertunity, not get pushed down the lineup for plugs that will mean nothing to this teams longterm future. He has the potentiol to be a really solid top 6 winger. He has one of the higher abilities to make something happen on his own and out of nothing on our team. He has the potentiol to become a legit playdriver at this level.

Sprong is similar to Kubalik in that he's a one-dimensional, inconsistent scoring winger. But their offensive styles are different. Sprong is faster and can actually carry the puck. He almost seems like a mash-up of Kubalik and Athanasiou. Faster than Kubalik, better shot than AA. I expect him to be a sheltered 3rd-line winger who sees plenty of PP time, while having his ES minutes minimized. And likely seeing some healthy scratches. An offensive role player. But I do love signing this type of player as he's entering his prime. If there's untapped potential here, the Wings have him in the ideal window for finding it.

This board is obsessed with Fabbri. Wish everyone would stop counting on him being healthy and he’s definitely not 2C.
No some people on this board just remind everyone else that the team likes Fabbri.

Based on facts like his salary and deployment when healthy.

Former Indycar driver Zach Claman Demelo alleged on his Instagram story that he was physically assaulted twice by Daniel Sprong in a nightclub. The pictures are pretty f***ed up.

Surely it will be investigated, but not a good look.

Not good. Wouldn't be surprised if his contract gets terminated. Fighting people in a nightclub is super trashy.

Yeah, the photos really tell the story here. Sprong went way beyond a scrap. This is the kind of assault that gets someone fired. (Assuming no twists to this story)

I mean, what is location, really
Impossible to tell from just this one account. I'm sure Sprong and some bystanders have context to add. And a lot of clubs have cameras these days.

Making a post like this is definitely a weird look for an athlete vs athlete scrap. They generally want to keep it out of the press, not drag it in like this. Going so far as to tag the player, team, and league seems... sensationalistic? Like he's inviting as much attention as possible.

Can't they just find any level headead former Capiltals players. No room for any Brobie's in the room. These bad habits have to just disappear by changing the personnel.

Terminate the contract and sign back Pius Suter.

Quite a few stories of him acting in this mannerism every off season back at home in Montreal. As mentioned above, let’s see if the story sticks and there is an investigation about it, but it’s no surprise that he’s a bit of a hot head

Big believer in letting all the information come to light before canceling someone. If true, and it's unprovoked. Then bye bye, if it's a case of someone picking a fight with a pro hockey player and not liking the consequences, that's a much different story. Not enough information to make judgement yet.
Terminate a contract over a fight?

Seems a bit much. Just let the legal system play out and give him his misdemeanor. Maybeb suspend him for 5 games to hurt the pocketbook but... lose his job/lively hood. Idk if he went that far, (yet).

This might not be the most PC thing to say, I'm not saying I agree with it or that it's right/wrong, it just is what it is:

A physical assault in a bar where the victim is male isn't going to carry anywhere near the amount of outrage as domestic violence or assault of a woman (obviously). Therefore I highly doubt much if anything comes of this. NFL only suspended Alvin Kamara 3 games, and no one really cares/everyone kinda forgot about it.

I just don't think the actual hockey consequences will be drastic if there are any at all. Again, not taking a position, just an observation on where society generally stands.

If unprovoked like some state they think it is, I think it could be within reason. Would have to be alcohol or substance related in nature. A bar fight between two willing parties? Not a chance.
