If you consider something like Compher and a 2nd and some c/ B prospect as “paying” then sure.
Sabres and Wings aren't good trading partners.Sabres youngest team in league with a ton of young talent in farm system.Buffalo needs established players to help young players mainly a defensive defenceman RH or a 2nd line centreman who has term and in the 25 to 30 age bracket.Red wings are looking to add to help their playoff push so a core or glue guy is off the table. That leaves picks and prospects which is the last thing Buffalo needs. Detroit is better off finding a team in rebuilding mode who needs picks and replenish their farm system while offloading a bigger contract from an older but still effective player.

Greenway Cozens Quinn have already clicked against the Rags, now Dylan also got the big performance and the pointz to go with it.
Detroit doesn't have a fitting piece to trade for him and Buffalo should hang on to him, anyway.
If he works as a center in the right combination and usage as he seems to do over this small sample size, even better.

What was Kasper's sample size before he heated up ?

I'm sure you will love getting a 33 yr old Schenn
it was approximately 35 games or so of his rookie season at 20 years old. Who had previously been playing under a coach who has since been fired, and had him stapled in the 4C slot. Bit different when compared to a, what 24 year old? Who has been slumping for around 130 games now. Who has put up, what for now looks like, one outlier season. Not to mention Cozens is playing at 2C on a team who, although horrible in the standings, does not have problems scoring goals.

Never know. Maybe you'll have better luck with guys who weren't drafted and developed by the Sabres. :dunno:

Not sure what you're getting at... prospects recently have developed fine... that isn't our issue.

Our issue is being youngest team in league year after year and throwing too many ofthese prospects into the fire with other prospects/ young players. We need more quality vets.

Can I frame this and show it to the people who gave us shit for not tanking year after year and signing vets to develop the kids instead?

If you like... but i think it is completely fine to tank and get high end talent... you just have to be competent when coming out of that phase..which the Sabres clearly haven't been.
