As an Islanders fan I hope he sends up a good player but just a slight step below Leddy. Although he not our prospect anymore it would speak well of the Islanders drafting.

I think he will. Would actually be pretty suprised if they didn't atleast give him a chance. He was playing very well in the AHL last season. Also given that the Hawks traded Johns he should have one less obstacle to surpass. Pokka has been great everywhere he has played so far. Very excited for him.

What a great season for Pokka,10 G 35 A 45 PTS in 76 games
last season won the rookie of the year award,this season defenseman of the year,
truly a great season from a great player.

Pokka wen't from being under microscope to being totally in shadows when Jumping in to NA leagues. Seems like he has good succes in AHL. I hope it was right choise for him and he gets Legit chance in NHL and uses it.

Pokka was the reason a lot of us Isles fans didn't think we stole Leddy away. He was as high as Pulock on a lot of our prospect rankings.

Yes. There is a reason that the Hawks were able to give up Johns, Paliotta, and I suppose Leddy could be thrown in that mix.
He will be expected to be the future of our D prospects. The Hawks are letting him progress at a solid rate and he should jump into the lineup next season. Possibly even full time.

I am really worried about the expansion draft. Pokka's AHL experience will mean he will be eligible and he is going to a very attractive choice for any expansion team. I hope they are able to find a way to keep him safe.
