Great list! Personally thought Jiricek was more impressive at WJC but then again I’m no pro scout. Appreciate all your input.I was surprised by 48% because 10 years ago, there were still 70% of selected players playing in CHL. But the number has collapsed over the past decade even though there has been a surge in 2020 because of the Covid.
The sum of the players is not good because the total among the nations you mention is 956. Canadian players now represent only 40%. 8 years ago they were still in the majority. And despite the favorable Covid situation, they were only 33.8% among the players selected for the 2020 draft. 32.3% in 2019; 33.6% in 2018.
Currently, Nemec can be estimated as a top 10 prospect. As already said, if he was born in 2003, he would already be selected in the 1st round, probably top 20. If he has a very bad season next year, he may fall to the lowest end of the 1st round.
I think you underestimate the player a lot.
Here's roughly my current top 32 for 2022 taking into account that players who haven't played this season live up to their reputation.[TBODY] [/TBODY]

Nemec is 9th but he is the player with whom there is the most sample to evaluate with Jiricek.
As you can see, I really haven't undervalued the North American players compared to the drafts of the last few years.
I think it’d be great for him. Nothing to lose, really. He’s been playing against men for a long time and now has experience against the best U20s in the world as well. The coach just needs to really emphasize that there are absolutely no expectations. Just tell him “soak it all in, have fun out there” and that’s it. Make sure bad performances don’t impact his confidence. I don’t think it’d be a problem and think he could actually do really well too.Recently, in other discussions, I've come across opinions that Nemec should be called to the men's national team in the current season (at least, for prep games before WC). It made me think if it wouldn't be too early for him. I wonder what do you think about this?
31.01.2021 (sunday)When do Nitra play Nove Zamsky? Would like to see how Nemec and Clarke perform playing against each other
Nice work in the offensive zone (not from todays game)
To me, Nemec seems like the more "mature" player who makes safer plays. Clarke is more offensive and tries to dangle more, but is not as used to men hockey as Nemec. They look more or less equal in terms of talent, hard to pick one of them. I like Clarke's attitude tho, you often see him talking to the slovak teammates and has good influence of the team which is nice from a 17 yo. kid coming to an unknown territorySo how did Nemec compare with Clarke in last nights game?
Simon recorded two assists in today 5-3 win against Poprad. He has 14 points after 27 games so far.

With these two points, he surpassed Erik Cernak in productivity in his D season, while the Nemec is year younger in D-1 season. And also, the Slovak league is today one level higher than it was in the season 14/15 when it was in terms of quality at the bottom. Anyway, a great season for Simon Nemec. As for points as well as for performances. I am starting to think more and more that it will be better for him to stay next season in Slovakia than to go to one of the CHL leagues. We see in Brendt Clarke that if the player is a great talent, scouts have no problem watching him in an unattractive league as the Slovak league has been for the last decade.
That’s interesting. Very unusual but we’ve seen the same work out for German prospects lately. He said that he is very likely to stay in Nitra for the next season.
Probably a bit better than ECHL? And better than any junior league of courseCan anyone shed light on the level of hockey in this league? Is it comparable to NCAA..or ECHL..?? ..or??
He said it in a slovak podcast hereDo you have an article or something to the interview (assuming this information is from an interview)?
