Dear lord that's a brutal take.Exactly, Casey at this point looks more like a Tony DeAngelo or Calen Addison than anything tbh.
Watch a game.

I’m sure you would have said the same thing 4 years ago had I said Ty Smith looked terrible and was overrated (I did)Dear lord that's a brutal take.

It’s a typo. Should read Calder Cup.The same Casey who just got sent down and is fighting for minutes on a crowded new jersey blue line? Might be ahl rookie of the year tough.
You realize how silly it makes you look to comment on a player you haven't watched, right? Because nobody who watched those Casey this year would compare him to Smith.I’m sure you would have said the same thing 4 years ago had I said Ty Smith looked terrible and was overrated (I did)

Those comparisons warrant the same criticisms. Casey is a very solid defensive player, especially for a 20 year old kid.I didn’t compare him to Smith, I compared him to Addison and Deangelo.
The name Ty Smith was brought up to highlight how fans can and will overvalue a player because they are young and new. It also helps he was also a Devils prospect.
You weren’t the only Ty smith hater but you’re the only Seamus Casey one.I’m sure you would have said the same thing 4 years ago had I said Ty Smith looked terrible and was overrated (I did)

4 points in his first 2 AHL games.I hope he absolutely torches the AHL now
I have no problem at all him being sent to the AHL... i think majority of young dmen need some AHL time to adjust to the pro game
Let him keep dominating all season in the AHL!!.. develop the kid properly and give him a full season in the minors and light it up4 points in his first 2 AHL games.
Does that count as torching?
I think that's fine. I think he makes our NHL team better, so I'd personally prefer him there as our 7th D instead of playing MacDermid, as it gives us flexibility in games where we trail and he'd be an asset on our 2nd PP unit. He's also able to play up front if needed. His skill and versatility make him a guy who can provide value today.Let him keep dominating all season in the AHL!!.. develop the kid properly and give him a full season in the minors and light it up
7D is a fine option vs playing MacDermid lol. There’s just no place for all three of Hamilton, LHughes, and Casey on a game day roster at the same time unless the team shifts to 11F7D. A team needs 4 defensemen they trust to be on the penalty kill, and none of those three are that. Hamilton only gets sparse PK minutes as second PK unit when the player serving the penalty is one of the usual four, and Hughes and Casey don’t even get that.
There absolutely can be a place for all three of them, Hamilton will eventually shift to be a more defensive-oriented role. There's nothing to suggest he can't PK.There’s just no place for all three of Hamilton, LHughes, and Casey on a game day roster at the same time unless the team shifts to 11F7D. Colorado's SC winning roster had Toews, Makar, Girard, and Byram and made it work.

Right now, Nemec is the 7D.7D is a fine option vs playing MacDermid lol.
