Son of former NHLer Radek Bonk. He had 3 pts in 10 games for London in the regular season. Looks like he is slotting in as their middle pair RD in the playoffs.

For a 16 year old, he has played very well in the playoffs. He has a bit of an awkward skating stance, but gets around pretty well. His offensive instincts are probably the best on Londons defence, which is unfortunately not saying a lot due to his competition.

We'll have to see the gains he makes in the off season, but I could see him being a 2nd to 3rd round pick next year.

Can I bet a beer that he ends up playing in Vegas like his dad?

It's hard to think of another Senator whose legacy was helped more by time thank Bonks. Left town as a let-down, an emblem of a team that just didn't have what it takes, a guy who was given too many chances and too much responsibility. And, while there is some truth to all of those things, there is also the truth that he was a very solid player for us for a long time, a great teammate, a great guy, and a true fan of the city of Ottawa.

Will be fun to track his boy and hope to see him succeed.

Didn’t live up to his draft slot and was miscast as a first line center. Had Ottawa had a proper first line center Bonk would have looked great as a two way second line guy.

Agreed entirely. Definitely wasn't his fault... he was just a guy who was thrust into a gaping hole that he wasn't suited to fill. I think everyone recognized that, but he was still "associated" with frustration. I think that association is gone now as we can all look back and appreciate that team for what it was.

His son ending up here would be awesome on many levels and I think he would get a lot of adoration off the bat.

Not much talk about Bonk, but every time i've watched London (4 times so far), he has stood out in good ways. Stylistically, i see Noah Dobson, just the way he skates and moves around the ice. Tall, mobile, two-way defender. Strong understanding at both end, shows some patience offensively with some fake outs. Good shot, and shoots often.

Maybe the numbers aren't there yet, but its definitely not for a lack of trying or creating. Not seeing much time on PP2, due to the emergence of Dickinson and return of Mailloux. I think the points will come and can see him working his way into regular 1st round consideration.

London has been terrible this year so it’s been difficult to get a read on Bonk.
I have watched 2 Knights games so far this year and haven‘t noticed him - good nor bad. Take that as you will.

The fact that one notices the younger Dickinson on the same terrible London team says a lot about the comparative strengths of those two players.

Don't think that's a fair comment. I honestly don't know how one wouldn't notice Bonk. Both him and Dickinson are noticeable. He was paired with Dickinson at ES (prior to Mailloux's return), was on the top PP earlier in the season, on top PK. He eats up a lot of minutes.

I have recorded his shifts in the games I've watched. Will be making a Bonk video shortly, also one for Brzustewicz.

I think that’s just a testiment to how damn good Dickinson is.
We’re talking about a potential top-5 pick in next years NHL draft vs a likely mid round pick in this years. Don’t think that’s fair to Bonk.
