You forgot small lower body and big upper bodyNew Jiricek thread. Let me be the one to say it: He needs to build strength and work on his skating. If he does he will be really good!
Okay continue.
Had a vg game today. His skating when he has the puck is fine, and going forward in general. His pivots need work, but that's technique and a bit of strength. What is encouraging is to see that he is starting to process the NHL game better. It's easy to talk about the physical attributes of a player, but much harder to assess what goes on between the ears. The game looks like it's starting to slow down a bit for Jiricek.View attachment 964358
Seems to be going well. The goal last night was end to end. Tonight he skated into several players and looked very poised. When he takes this serious and learns to skate, watch out!
I'm a Wild fly by fan right now (I assume Jiricek heads back to Iowa when guys return) but their D pipeline is deep! When they get healthy they will be a big playoff problem for you and I (Oilers fan).was impressed with him today. Don't like that as an Avs fan the Wild have Faber/Jiricek on the right side. Lucky our windows won't have much overlap
More than I expected to be honest. I was thinking 0 and full time AHL to play primo minutes. So this is a nice bonus until Spurgeon and Brodin are back. The games will do nothing but good for him.
I know, it's getting crazy. Buium might be available as early as this spring, too.I'm a Wild fly by fan right now (I assume Jiricek heads back to Iowa when guys return) but their D pipeline is deep! When they get healthy they will be a big playoff problem for you and I (Oilers fan).
Agree.. use that depth and get Kaprizov a running mate. Buium is going to be unreal IMO too. Has the exact pedigree to be successful. USA dmen are insanely good right now and that's the pipeline he's coming from.I know, it's getting crazy. Buium might be available as early as this spring, too.
Middleton - Faber
Brodin - Jiricek
Merrill - Spurgeon
Chisholm - Bogosian
Buium - Spacek
That's a lot Dmen, especially skilled dmen. I think one has to be moved...
Next year. Yurov will be over, and will hopefully be a middle six option. MN will have an extra 14M in cap space to sign a forward. I think they want to keep Bogo around because of his size and toughness, at least till they feel Jiricek has grown into his body a bit more. Right now he seems strong one minute, awkward and easily pushed around the next... it's just physical maturity, IMO.Agree.. use that depth and get Kaprizov a running mate. This is insane depth. And I maintain Walstedt will be a beaut even at his lowest point as I'm very high on him!
