Maybe you happened to tune into the games at the wrong time, but I thought his breakout passes were pretty spot on (when there were players open to receive the pass and not at the end of a 1min 30s shift).I was not impressed with a lot of ASP's games this WJC. Tried to do too much on his own and shot the puck way too often even when there was a clear lane for a good pass to a wide open player.
I watched every Sweden game, but I am focusing on his offensive zone play in my previous comment. He did well in the Dzone I agree, but for a player that is considered a dynamic D who creates offense I was very disappointed with his decision making in the O zone.Maybe you happened to tune into the games at the wrong time, but I thought his breakout passes were pretty spot on (when there were players open to receive the pass and not at the end of a 1min 30s shift).
He played with more poise than I remembered last watching him with. Good for a young defenceman who most are just labeling as a PP shot.
Think he will turn out to be a gem for the wings. Seider and or Ed will be perfect partners for him to play with.

I thought he was amazing and will be amazing. Was impressed my Czechs kept him to 1 assist in 2 games. Future is very bright. 2 to 3 years and he should be a very impactful NHL player.
Definitely one of the top prospects not in the NHL. I don't think he'll step in and be lights out though. Bit small... Needs PP time and to play with other offensive players (like Raymond). But by 22 or 23. Could be a .ppg dman which is what I think he'll become.I didn't get to watch him other than a few highlights. How would you grade him as a prospect?
lol. What size rink did they just have the tourney on?
lol.
First off all - success in a kids tourney does not = success everywhere else.
Success in the SHL dies not = success in the NHL.
He’s small, slow, not the greatest skater, questionable decision making in the offensive zone, not a great shot, and I think he’ll have trouble on smaller ice vs men.
But hey, let’s hope I’m wrong! (not for you though)
When saying that, I mean that I don’t think he’s shot is “great” on NHL level. Do you?Lol you had me until the “not a great shot” part. Nice try almost got me

Taking all U-20 defenseman over the last seven seasons, Sandin-Pellikka currently ranks 6th in Goals Above Replacement, behind a couple of future teammates. Notably, Sandin-Pellikka has done this in just 25 games and he’s got 22 more games left in his regular season. By Goals Above Replacement per 60 minutes, he’s already 1st amongst U-20 defenseman over the last seven years. Should he keep up this pace of play, he’s likely to shatter the U-20 mark for goals above replacement by defenseman in addition to the points mark.

Kind of a weird opinion imo, I didn't love Willander's tournament. Defensively him and Lindstein actually had some really rough moments and some goals against, and while it was a weak penalty he still put himself in the position to be penalized on the OT loss against Finland. No points and -2 in the elimination round. I kind of feel like the ASP hype is getting people to nitpick him far more than they do a guy like Willander. At the end of the day ASP had double the points and was a +8, barely on the ice for a goal against all tournament.Imo Willander were better than ASP
Nitpick and nitpick- I know what you mean, but I came away fairly unimpressed with ASPs game vs Finland - a lot of floaters missing the goal/guys in front, and he had lots of them. That was basically his semifinal game. Also a lot of weird choices on the blue line/neutral zone.Kind of a weird opinion imo, I didn't love Willander's tournament. Ahh yes, delusion and pulling shit out of your ass seems to be your double down.lol.

No idea why you’re getting so offended over me not thinking that he’ll turn out the way you want him to, but OK?Ahh yes, delusion and pulling shit out of your ass seems to be your double down.
Just admit you're butthurt he's a wings prospect and you're full of shit because hot takes like these just say it for you with a lot of wasted energy.
That's my point about "nitpicking" - I think it's just expectation that ASP will make something out of nothing that creates this criticism. A good game isn't enough.Nitpick and nitpick- I know what you mean, but I came away fairly unimpressed with ASPs game vs Finland - a lot of floaters missing the goal/guys in front, and he had lots of them.
