Yeah 1 ppg defender would be bad to bring to this cup… Just embarrassing. Please get a reality check.Definitely not.

For all the pretty puckhandling Sandin doesn’t produce points, and his small size isn’t exactly intimidating. +/- -4 just 1 point in 7 games. Lacks size, point production and worst defense of all defenders.
It’s official stats. You must have watched a different tournament. Please tell me what goal against he was involved in, I’ll be waiting.
He showed great potential and was definitely impressive given he is a 17 year old playing at the WJC.... but he has a lot to work on defensively and his decision making was pretty bad at times. He could be a really good player, I expect him to go in the 10-20 range
I thought ASP had a very good tournament for a draft eligible defenseman. His transition game was excellent and I thought he did pretty well defensively. The Swedish coach evidently agrees as he played him a lot for a 17 year old.
Where doubt creeps in is in his offensive or one-on-one decision making. With his skating he should be able to drop forecheckers who are trying to pressure him at the point, but he kinda doesn't know what to do. The only problems that I noticed this tournament related to this situation. He'll challenge a defender without a clear plan of what to do, and end up having to make a quick pass to a teammate to get out of trouble.
But he's certainly one of the top dmen in the draft.
I see him as a Julius Honka/Nils Lundkvist type as a guy who never really pans out to the level most expected.I found his top of the umbrella play pretty pedestrian. It didn't seem like he knew how to manipulate defenders to open up a play of value. Sweden never making any adjustments to their PP configurations or PP was certainly part of their 4th place finish this year.
I like him but I really don't think he's shown high end offense from the back end which is why I think I'll end up keeping Dragicevic over ASP even if ASP is more advanced in most other categories.
I feel pretty similarly about ASP. Don’t have him in my top-20.I see him as a Julius Honka/Nils Lundkvist type as a guy who never really pans out to the level most expected.
He looks pretty okay at first glance but the more you look the more there is to not like in his projection.

Fair enough but his status grew after he was drafted in the SHL really quickly though.Lundqvist was drafted 28th overall. He’ll outperform that draft position big time.
I guess time will tell.Sandin Pellikka is a similar but more talented player. Better hands, more creativity. PP-tools.
In my view he's Adam Boqvist 2.0. Literally everything about him screams Adam Boqvist. I'm not sure if that's a good sign though. Boqvist was mishandled grocely both in Columbus but mainly Chicago. Still, I don't think he was ever willing or capable to work on his weaknesses. We'll see how this guy turns out.
He seems to make his money in his transition game, which may be elite? Again, I'm seeing Brandon Montour in my limited viewings. Can look great in the perfect situation, and not-so-great depending on the style of game/system. Has some glaring weaknesses that may be covered up pretty easily with the right coach. My view of ASP is that he's a good offensive defenseman but he's not a great offensive defenseman. He's good defensively but he's not great defensively. I don't see him on a PP1 and I don't see him on a PK1, so that kind of precludes me from picking him before the 20s.
