Sandin incredible in that 2nd period last night. 5/3 pk, blocks, manhandling stars players, scored 3rd goal. Love watching him and Liljegren. Every game they show more.
Seems a bit silly to take away people's ability to like posts as we can still like them, it's just that we have to quote the post in order to say so which just clutters up the forum.

Like. :)

Shout out to this guy. Slowly turning into muzzin-lite, nice underrated gritty game. All that fuss and crying in the off season from even people I didn't expect it from, over nothing. Had all right to value himself the way he did.

Sandin's evaluation of Sandin is more trustworthy than Dubas' evaluation of Sandin.

Same situation with Nylander. If you read his interviews, he admits he wasn't worth 8 mil at the time of signing, he was valuing his worth over the whole duration which is why he priced himself that high, and he ended up 100% correct.

I would still prefer Sandin on a 3-4 year deal right now similarly to wishing Nylander still had 4 years left @ 8-8.5. Just gotta ride with Scooblander decisions for now.

Anyway, nice to see Sandin emerging as something we desperately needed. Maybe he won't ever become an elite top 4, but he is a lock to be an elite bottom 4.

Good numbers but is there a defenseman with poor numbers over the last 10 games?

5v5 xGF% for our regulars on the season so far:

Sandin 57.5%
Giordano 56.4%
Liljegren 55.9%
Brodie 54.2%
Rielly 52.2%
Holl 50.4%

We've also gotten mixed contributions from our depth defenders. Guys like Benn (54.5% xGF) and Timmins (51.5% xGF) have fit in well, while the smaller guys like Mete (40.6% xGF) and Hollowell (36.8% xGF) barely kept their heads above water and hopefully won't be needed again this season.

Much needed step forward for Sandin. Rielly going out has been the best thing that's happened to him so far in his career.

He's been very good. Crisp passes, great exists along with Liljegren, producing offence. A very memorable 5-3 kill. The key now is to keep going even when Rielly comes back, and like anyone with injury history, hope durability is part of his description by next year.

I’ll be the first to sign this form

Thought he was too slow and made some unorthodox plays which limited his usefulness

He’s been stellar, and if he keeps this up I am not sad to admit it in the slightest
His skating still isn't very good but he's been playing very well lately.

He’s done a good job adjusting. He compensates for his speed with positioning now.
He makes smarter pinches and times them very well. Especially on the pp, before it was pretty easy for a forward to get around him for a 50/50 puck, now he’s started bailing out early to play defence which is good that he recognizes his speed isn’t enough to get to the puck

Before he thought of his skating as his strength and would try to skate like he was Rielly, who gets burned doing it when he does it himself with his skating.

He is understanding and developing his game around his strengths and weaknesses, especially over this stretch
