He was great on defense 2 years ago, and good on defense last year. He's had some ups and downs this year. You're take isn't getting a lot better, and suffers badly from recency bias.

He was better than Makar in these metrics in the 22-23 season, but Buffalo is a very bad organization with a questionable GM who can't do everything right, even f***ing when Ruff becomes a coach. You still have to screw up with defense, then screw up with goalies and screw up with the top 6.

Well, that's just a problem for the fans. You can't throw 18-year-old Dahlin into the NHL in an organization like Buffalo with all that mess and expect him to play like Makar forever. Although they are completely different players. Makar plays in a good organization with a constant partner, with a constant good PP, with the same coach. If you want players like Dahlin and Power to play well and develop correctly, do everything you can to achieve this, what did Adams do? NOTHING.
