He turned down boston at the deadline and wants to only go to tax free states.

I can totally see Tampa Bay being a player here

I wonder if the market is light and signing a one year deal for big money in San Jose appeals to him. Sort of like how Taylor Hall signed a one year deal in Buffalo after being disappointed with his offers.

Vancouver offer Rasmus Andersson a 1 year contract at $12,000,000 with the full intention of trading him to a contender at the TDL, with 50% retention. The cost to the acquiring team is $1.44 million in actual cap. Rasmus can give a 8 team trade clause to the Canucks. Does he accept?
In this hypothetical scenario even if rasmus was interested in something like this it would not be an 8 team list, he would have a full NTC full NMC and get to pick his own destination.

But no he would not risk it when he can just sign with a contender long term now

Why would someone pay a premium for him for the purpose of trading him and then completely destroy his trade value by giving him a NMC

If he wants to pick where he goes thats great but then he'll get below market value, not a premium

Because you have to actually convince the player to sign.

The entire incentive for Rasmus to sign the deal is getting to pick his destination to a contender.

You can't go "we promise we'll trade you to the contender you want if you sign with us" and then be unwilling to put that into a players contract.

Ooh if Hedman is 100% and they didn't trust Raddysh enough, then adding Rasmus in his place could be quite smart. His career average's at about 37 points but he's had several 40+ point seasons so he would be less of a gamble (plus he's got a stronger 2-way game) so he'd be a great add in TB if he was to go there and fit in well along the likes of Hedman, Moser, McDonagh and Cernak.

That or he could be that all-around 1RD that he was in Calgary but for the Sharks.

But why the hell would Vancouver do that?

He'll of a lot cheaper ways to get a late second. He's getting like four million extra and oh no, he has to move somewhere for four months

Just asking the question.............how much do you think he gets per season and how long of contract?

I was being generous, but a 16 no trade list would be acceptable and happens all the time. His return at the TDL would be a 1st all day, every day. Maybe more!

You think rasmus andersson at the deadline gets a late 2nd?

He's getting 3 mill a year extra and risking a lot more than that if he gets hurt

Rasmus Andersson is not forgoing long term security so you can ship him to half the league lmao

Last I heard that was off. Did I miss some news?

From all indications with the Vegas media the Andersson deal is done and has been sitting in the drawer since the trade was made. It's supposedly 7x8-8.5. Just can't be made official until Vegas makes the cap space either through a trade or putting Petro on LTIR 7/1.
