He got paid more yeah but he still has little legacy in the league outside of failure

He's chasing money so kudos to him but a better job would have been on a team on the upswing not downswing while making 6-7M

I think not so much trading him, but the return.

Thise we're the moves everyone saw as mistakes from the first minute. They stand apart because they were mistakes even without hindsight.

Kadri was fired for getting suspended twice in the playoffs in a row. Not many work places where you can f*** up that badly, that often and keep your job. At the time I loved the trade. Barrie was a RHD coming off an All-Star appearance and Kerfoot is a serviceable player. It blew up in our face, no doubt, Kadri won a cup with the Avs and Barrie is my most hated Leaf of the Matthews era. But the trade made sense at the time and sometimes you make the right choice and it still goes poorly.

The Murray trade on the other hand, was awful from the moment it was announced. Utterly asinine move and I made many posts at the time that I couldn't believe Dubas had made the move that would cost him his job. Failing to prioritize goaltending is his single biggest failing IMO. Terrible trade.
