The difference is we are not a rebuilding team in the sense that we are going scorched earth. Compare our roster to the Edmonton and Buffalo in the McEichel year. Or when Toronto drafted Nylander or when New Jersey hired Shero (the official start of their turn arounds).

No. A shot from the center in the middle of a 3 on 2 where the defense doesnt have a terrible gap will have a higher expectation for a score there. FFS he HAD to pass it behind his back, lets the goalie track it, and slide over and make a positional save on a guy kinda fading away from the net.
