I think I'd prefer they hang on to Hayes but if he keeps playing like this there are going to be some legit offers made for him. The other upside is that losing him might help us plummet another spot or two in the standings which of course could mean a better pick or higher chance at da lotto

Their expected goals for the whole game was 4.47.

So Hank gave up 4 and SAVED goals. That's crazy.

you can tell he was just throwing it at the net. Had trouble controlling it and had his head down looking at the puck just trying to get anything at the net. Pure luck it found a way under Hank's arm

They’ve been bad since Thanksgiving and are only getting worse.

I'm a fan of Tony D'Angelo. But he doesn't seem to know how to stop the pass from getting through on 2-on-1's. It's a teachable thing. And I find it odd that by this point in his career he doesn't seem to understand how to angle off the puck carrier and and use his body and stick to stop the pass. Lundqvist can't be asked to stop the shot and the pass. That said, it was a sneaky good shot.

He didn't take away the pass, instead he sort of went to Stastny but didn't commit so he was caught in no man's land

He was screwed either way. Besides, I 100% agree with @Machinehead. There is pretty much no good way for a d-man to play a 2 on 1. I’ve only seen it happen a few times throughout all these years I’ve been watching. And I watch a ton of hockey.

Also, he was tired as hell. Everyone was. Long shift.

I want this team to win, but if they have to lose, I would rather them lose in regulation. An OT loss feels just as bad, if not worse, than a regulation loss. The team’s morale will worsen either way.

Hopefully Gorts gets some size along with speed in the next 2 drafts. Vegas looks like a team built for the playoffs. Big,strong on the puck and good skill.
