The league is so much faster as a whole than it was when Stepan broke in. At one point Kreider was the fastest guy in the league and now he's basically average.

Stepan is definitely slowing down also.

It’s not even speed, just how terrible his form and technique is. But yeah, it’s even worse now that he’s so slow in today’s game he’s just not effective.

Glad management knew this and moved on when they did.
