Nice to know your shtick is going to continue.

Who cares where they were picked? We have two great prospects. If Chytil turns out to be a first liner and Lias a second, who cares? We win either way.

Btw “never be a center in this league, can’t skate” is something 95% of ppl said about Kevin Hayes at 22 years old. Just saying.

Exactly, fans are very fickle, to begin with, and add to that a player with a professional mindset can make drastic improvements in a single off-season. Especially with skating. See Barzal, Point, Boyle and so many more hiring skating coaches.

Barzal in his D+1 season was not the on the same level as he is now - two years later. Matter of fact, he made the greatest leap between his D+2 and current season in the off-season. That is why I say Andersson needs two more years. Players improve.

Chytil-Andersson-Fast would be an excellent third like next season.

Not sure where that leaves the rest of the roster, just saying. Those 3 look good together, young legs and energy and enough skill to be an unexpected mismatch against other 3rd lines at times.

Changing the subject for a little bit, how in hell the islanders sucks so much with Barzal and Tavares ? They are being shutout against the Panthers.

McDonagh has a 57% Corsi with a 62% defensive zone start in Tampa. lol

Without Girardi - +17.54 CF%rel

With Girardi - -6.08CF%rel

It's exactly the same story as it was with the Rangers.

Cooper has been trying different combinations and he better hope he makes the right decision.

I truly can't wrap my head around it. They got an extra top line center from nowhere and somehow didn't improve at all.

Untrue.

Universally hated here very recently:

Staal
Girardi
Glass
McLeod
I didn't hate any of those guys. I hated AV for putting them in shit systems and giving them way too much ice time in general and in specific situations

I think we universally agreed on Glass's horribleness but I don't know many who hated him

Same story. Dan's team at the top of the league. Defensive defensemen have value that your stats don't show.

There you are, you were right, still plenty of Girardi defenders.

Chytil makes so many plays where his linemates are not ready for it. Even today, he has had a behind the back backhand pass that Zucc missed, because Zucc did not have his stick on the ice.

Point being, Chytil would thrive with someone a bit more talented and smart at the same time. Perhaps Buchnevich is the only player I can think of currently on our team. Zucc is good, but not accustomed to the level of talent Chytil has displayed.

That being said, I would not mind Chytil staying another season in the AHL and just dominating there. Especially if AV returns. We have a good development coach down there now. One more season to add finesse, stamina and two off-seasons for work with skating. That time can do wonders.

(Ansimov was PPG in the AHL, but just at the time where scoring was a bit more loose and he was a year or two older so PPG in the AHL these days would be just what the doctor ordered).
