Are you kidding? That was highway robbery. So essentially a couple of fourth rounders and a sixth?
Meh.

I would not have guessed that.I thought so too, but his save percentage as a backup and when getting regular work was virtually identical. Someone posted the numbers.
He legit regressed each season he was here though. His rookie season was actually really good considering how bad that team was. Sophomore effort was really up and down, he was bad during the short covid season and was even worse last season.
couldn't disagree more, as I'd mentioned, received 3 picks comparable to ones which recently brought NYR,: Shesterkin, Garand, Berard, Barron, Pajuniemi, Ryan Graves, Boyko, Lamb - and moreSo essentially a couple of fourth rounders and a sixth?
Meh.
I don't understand what this is supposed to mean. We’re all going to laugh about this trade until AG wins the Cup next year.
I mean that we’re all very happy with this return and to be rid of Georgiev but in the meantime, he just went to a juggernaut that’s probably going to win the Cup again next year.I don't understand what this is supposed to mean.
100%. He has proven to be very competent so far.One thing this proves is that a lot of people on this Board are clueless at times. Conversation until now was that Rangers would be lucky to get any picks let alone 3 for him. Drury has proven so far he is very much qualified for this position. I would not under estimate his ability to pull of a great trade for a 2 center. Let the fun begin.
Even if that happens, so what. He was done here, and Drury did well for value. Obviously some people will be pissed because a lot posters here dislike Georgiev, but as far as the trade goes this was a good move and will be a good move even if he wins the Conn Smythe next season.I mean that we’re all very happy with this return and to be rid of Georgiev but in the meantime, he just went to a juggernaut that’s probably going to win the Cup again next year.

Not seeing how that has anything to do with the Rangers.I mean that we’re all very happy with this return and to be rid of Georgiev but in the meantime, he just went to a juggernaut that’s probably going to win the Cup again next year.
I mean, its not like he didn't want to be here cause he hated New York , the franchise, or the other players. He was a good teammate (except for ADA) according to all reports and not a cancer. He just wanted a starting job or at least a shot at a starting job, which he will not get in NYC.Doesn't seem to happen all that often, but when a player doesn't want to be here, he has to go. It took a little longer then anticipated in the case of Georgiev. Drury seems to have gotten some good value for him.
If he gets the lions share of the work he may be really good for you. He was not going to get that here and he was too costly and unhappy for a backup.25 year old talented young man with something to prove we hopefully.
If they do, he won’t be the reason why. Just like kuemper wasn’t the reason why this year. We’re all going to laugh about this trade until AG wins the Cup next year.
Is Garand anywhere near making a jump?who becomes our backup?
Wait. I heard from Leafs and Oilers fans that Georgiev sucks. I guess Avs front office disagrees.Great return for what we expected. Two 3rds and a 5th? That said, it signals that teams think Georgie has some upside as a starter so it could end up looking like a steal the other way. Colorado has Francouz at 2M signed and Geo won’t likely cost less than 1.75M so unless Colorado plans to have 9-10M in net and three goalies (which Geo will throw a shit fit over) it looks like he’s going to get a shot to start on the defending champs.
If hes starting for them, they aren't getting there.
The large majority of Georgiev's career shows him to be a below average goalie. I don't know why people expect that to change now that hes on the move. Do I think focus/motivation being stuck behind a legend and then another guy who looks well on his way to becoming one was a factor? 100%. Do I also remember him single handedly keeping opponents in (or even blowing) games by being awful on the semi regular? Also yes.
It's not like we're some goalie graveyard like is Philly or NJ is becoming where you take a guy out of a shitty situation and find gold.
that could be really a self-defeating strategy, he should be playing a lot, wherever he isIs Garand anywhere near making a jump?
The player I wanted and most the league passed on was injured Tarasenko.I still can't imagine he couldn't have gotten something better for Buchnevich.
