It also gives Colorado a better cost certainty in goal. Kuemper probably was looking at $5-6m. Colorado now has more space to improve their roster

Great return for what we expected. Two 3rds and a 5th? That said, it signals that teams think Georgie has some upside as a starter so it could end up looking like a steal the other way. Colorado has Francouz at 2M signed and Geo won’t likely cost less than 1.75M so unless Colorado plans to have 9-10M in net and three goalies (which Geo will throw a shit fit over) it looks like he’s going to get a shot to start on the defending champs.

He's finally gonna get a chance at atleast getting enough games in to prove himself. Good luck to him, i think he steals the starters job there personally. I think Drury did alright with this trade as well.

What'd you reasonably expect? Three picks is a great return for a RFA goalie who doesn't want to be here and proved to be an unreliable backup.

Why? He was probably one of the biggest reasons we lost to Carolina in the bubble and then one of the biggest reasons we beat Carolina in the playoffs this year....good riddance
He's an RFA with a QO that's twice what he's actually worth who wanted out. I was expecting like a fifth, and no more. Getting two thirds, even if they're at the end of the round? That's a really solid return, IMO.
