Another Sather reclamation project. I don't expect much, if anything from Beach, but hopefully I'm wrong. Also, there were rumors about him being a distraction off the ice? Can anyone speak to that?

I remember wanting to draft Beach in 08, he was a reach though. Always had a huge physical element to his game so hopefully he can be a banger for us. No loss in Mashinter, might as well take a stab at Beach.

Why?

Kyle Beach is a ****** player and ****** person. Wonderful.

Wow. I know Beach is basically a bust.

But he is exactly what I would like to see on the 3rd/4th line. Truculence with some skill that can skate.

Plus a little bit of crazy.

Hey, it's a long shot, but if the price is Mashinter, who isn't going to be any sort of gamebreaker one way or the other, it's worth a try. It's probably a meaningless move in the end, but it can't hurt to give it a shot.

Beach still has potential to be a gritty 4th line forward.

This is not a move that signify that this is a seriously run organization. I always been intrigued with Beach. But then I saw him in the SEL this season. He wasn't really close to being able to compete at that level. No potential or ability. Mashinter was atleast a hockey player...

I saw very little of him in Sweden admittedly, but I just thought he was far from good enough...

Well at least now we won't have to hear those few people who always cry "ZOMG bRing up MAshinter!!!1!!11!!" every time we "lose" a fight. Just for that the trade is a win.

Beach is a very tough guy, who can be offensively productive too. Has had some skating issues and hasn't yet played in NHL. Needs new start.

He had some upside in the past. I didn't think he was THAT far away from the NHL a year or so ago. He has a little bit of 'crazy' in him, which this team lacks.

Also, he had 4 goals in his first 7 AHL games this year and then left for Sweden. My guess? He asked for a trade and then left. He wanted a new start as he felt he was close but was being passed over. I think he may have more in the tank than many here believe.
