Fact...

The more you have the puck, the more likely you are to turn the puck over.

That's why every single year, the league leaders in turnovers are guys who always have the pucks on their sticks. Who led the league by FAR AND AWAY in giveaways last year? Brent Burns and EK65....don't want those 2 bums.

Guys who lead the NHL in giveaways over the past 10 years...
Joe Thornton...#1 by a country mile...then Brent Burns...then Getzlaf...then AO.

There are of course some scrubs up there..but by and large the top giveaway players in the NHL are a who's who of All-Stars and first ballot hall of famers.
So I really don't care about turnovers and what not..frankly Shattys turnover numbers, considering his possession numbers, are remarkable. He averages about 1 giveaway every other game...Jumbo Joe and Brent Burns are around 1 (or more) a game...

Answer the question

I watched him throughout the playoffs where he got dumped onto the 3rd paring.
I also watched him get dumped in St Louis and ultimately traded off the team.
Yeah he got one game winner in the playoffs blah blah.
He was supposed to push the caps, an elite team over the top.
What a joke that was..

So how many times?

I think it's tough for anyone to come over to another team late in the season, get thrown into the playoffs against the NHL's best teams soon thereafter, and expect them to gel immediately. Shatty now has three months worth of getting to know guys, training, playing at camp, learning the system, etc... He'll be fine, me thinks.

Brian Leetch give away the puck a LOT. Still one of the best Offensive Dman to ever play. When your a great playmaker your going to force some passes you shouldn't.

Yup. Takes time to gel. And Pitt was a brutal matchup.

I think I answered his question more than a few posts ago but reading comprehension only pertains to stat sheets around here these days haha

The answer to the question "how many times?" is a number.

You did not post a number.

I'm a little buzzed tonight so I'll play along for a little bit.
Please tell me how in any way shape or form Shattenkirk is a #2 dman and what makes you think he's so stellar defensively.
And please save the he's better than G BS please and thank you.
I'm aware of his offensive game.
It's about Shattenkirk..
Go!

Bobbing and weaving like Muhammed Ali. We're clearly not going to get a number.

There you have it, folks. The guy telling us "watch the games" hasn't watched the player in question over any sort of sufficient sample.

Believing that Girardi is better than Shattenkirk in -any- facet of the game is hockey is about on par with believing the earth is flat.
