Confirmed with Link: Rangers sign Dominic Moore (1 year, $1M)

Not to be underestimated, but the more players a team has that are good on face-offs, the more teams can "cheat" on face-offs because they are not afraid to be tossed out of the circle. That is no small thing.

I could be wrong as I dont know first hand or have numbers handy. But it seemed like we have been one of the worst faceoff teams of recent years

So Boyle to the wing or is he now trade bait?

I read this morning that this whole thing may play out. Mentioned Boyle being traded and Moore being signed to save cap space.

My guess would be Boyle getting traded. Either on his own for a pick (2nd round) or part of package for a young forward.

Someone mentioned that its been said that Yakupov is available for a Dman. Rangers better be all over that.

Sather ... made a decent signing? I honestly like this move, adds a skillful guy on our bottom 6, while improving our depth.

No, Moore can play.

Halpern was brought in to win faceoffs. Moore does much more for the team.

Moore hasn't played in a year.

CAREER PPG:

Halpern: 0.39 PPG
Moore: 0.34 PPG

Mindblowing, isn't it?

How is this a bad deal? Even if his head still isn't in the game, he's only signed for a year at 1 million.

He'll provide some goals, help the PK, win face offs and get under other teams' skin.

I feel Moore is a redundant player here with Boyle, a superior player already under contract.

Yeah. Should have signed David 'puck possesion' Clarkson

Yeah I only advocated to sign him if it was between him, Bickell and Clowe. I still take Clarkson over the other two.

It blows my mind that Kershaw isn't on literally everyone's ignore list. Troll city brah.

I'm shocked--SHOCKED--to hear you say that! What an unpredictable response!

Seriously though, if the year off didn't hurt his game, he's a good addition. We'll see. One year deal, if it doesn't work we're done with him.

Yeah, clearly I was a hater in the Kristo trade.

Like you said nyr2k2, one year off and his game fell off a cliff in San Jose. Taking a year off is a huge factor in this decision.

FTR, I was against Moore joining the Rangers hours before he was linked to the Rangers, let me find the post.

Edit: here we go:

I don't see the point in bringing a fringe center to displace a good center transitioning to wing. No thanks to Moore.

I can't really complain about one year at 1 million, but didn't he make some disparaging comments about the organization on several separate occasions?

haha yeah I've thought about it from time to time, but his posts intrigue me to find out why he thinks what he thinks...He doesn't like Moore or any current or prospect Ranger by the sounds of it...

Kershaw-this isn't really the place for this, so hopefully this won't draw ppl off topic, but can you name a few players/prospects in the NHL you do like or 20 names you'd want together as a team to play for the Rangers? - thanks

Hey, if you think Moore is similar to Halpern there is no arguing with you because you haven't seen them play lately, or throughout their careers.
?

I've followed both players throughout their careers. Very similar players.
