Considering Jeff Skinner just got 9 million as an inferior player with an absurd injury history, this looks like a ****ing heist.
Yep. Plus apparently Islanders were offering over 12.5 AAV.

11.6m AAV for an elite talent in his prime. This is good.

We've all been talking the last few years about needing elite talent. Well now we have one guaranteed, another should become one in Kakko and possibly Kravtsov.

This is all good.

Plus the Russian connection with Panarin, Kravtsov, Buch, Igor, Rykov. He definitely helps there too.

Can we trade Shattenkirk for a 7th rounder? Any takers? We can throw in some MSG season tickets. No? How about an illuminating lunch with our brilliant mayor and AOC? No?

Stupid cap.

Skinner has averaged 80.4 games played the last 5 years. Not sure how many players can even beat that. What injury history are you talking about?

If Kreider isn't gone in the offseason then he should be gone at the deadline. You don't let him reach free agency.
This team is going to compete for the playoffs and if they are in a position to make it they arent going to trade him at the deadline. They would ride him and deal his rights at the draft.

If they do trade him this summer than they are going to either bring in another vet in the deal to help take pressure off the 2 line, or youll see vlad or strome playing on the 2 line a lot. They aren't rolling a 2 line of buch with 2 kids. cant see it. That being said, I'm not even convinced panarin will play with zibs

And sounds like Anders Lee may be leaving

Ehh...it'd be good if the Rangers had all the pieces in place and he was going on top to compliment it. As it is, the Rangers have a lot of question marks in place but potentially the talent for a good team. It's a gamble...but as I pointed out, the Rangers cap going forward is wide open at the moment as well.

His game also — to my knowledge — doesn’t heavily rely on skating speed or strength to the extent. He reads plays well, is great with his stick and has a fantastic shot. Barring injury troubles, he should prove a solid long-term asset. Not a PPG type in seven years — but I’d still expect 60 points from him at 33-34.
