look at montreal. you think it's a coincidence their bottom 6 elevate their play and their whole team plays better??? look at us last year. i wish we has guys like mcilrath and mclogan up with the big club. not the most talented but will give the other to play with a little back bone. make them a little hungry. heck dubinsky even gave us a little of that.

Torts deserves blame for the inability to change stuff during a game, but I never understand why it is the coaches job to get players "ready' for a game. These guys are professionals, if they need someone else to get them 'pumped up' the really need to have a look at themselves, especially the leadership group.

This is a point that is really overlooked IMO. Last season almost everything went right for the Rangers, just about everyone played out of their skins. Even with that, we only just finished ahead of a Pens team missing Crosby for a large chunk of the season and struggled to put anyone away in the playoffs.

This season the depth is gone and players have come back down to earth. the compete levels shown are disappointing, but overall the Rangers are about where they should be expected to be in the standings

Yeah, thinking of it realistically, a team with one of the least effective offenses got shut out by a team with one of the most effective defenses. However, this team isn't going to get anywhere losing to every team they have an excuse to lose to. Gotta step up and steal some points if you want to make the playoffs.

This team is missing heart and soul guys. I don't necessarily think Sather should have resigned Prust, But a guy like him could help change the flow of the game. Lots of heart and commitment, which this team misses.

I'm not even that down on Boyle cuz he played a pretty decent game imo. But JT's stupid ass should've been ****ing plastered to the bench after that giveaway that led to the 2nd goal

Agree completely. I still believe that Prust got too much $ for too many years, but regardless, once he left Sather just tried to replace hime (and the loss of Feds, Dubi and AA) with bargain basement players which didn't work rather than going after someone that was closer in output
 
no reason to get Ott, no trade is going to help them. We should be selling this year and building towards a team next year with a different identity and prayerfully a different coach.

jt was terrible but he cant do anything wrong in the eyes of our coach. BB was out there way too much.
 
It's times like this where I scratch my head at the desire to acquire more defense men.

Another game where they really only gave up 2 goals and that was all it took.
 
If anybody can tell me that they saw desire for a win tonight, I would love to hear that story.

Until this team can consistently score 2 a game, Hank shouldn't be here. Wasting an elite goaltender's prime.
Look at last nights MTL-BOS game. Price allows 5 goals, but his team has his back and beats BOS with 5 goals and wins in a shootout. I dare you to say the Rangers wouldn't have given up after goal 3.

Hank is good not great but wtf was he doing yelling at Kreider ? That's a bush legue move no one landed on him so shut up and play. Kid showed a nasty side cleared the crease about time someone did

the trade gaborik boards had me convinced that trading a 40 goal scorer for an ancient member of torts's tampa team who carries a huge caphit and is signed for another year was our only hope

what did powe do? its not like hes playing or anything. trade boyle+pyatt for a 3C, trade gabs fro a high end prospect and a top 10 pick, buyout richards throw all the money we save at malkin in a few years and hope he comes to NY
