Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Senators 2/21/13 - Miller Light

So I couldn't watch the game unfortunately. It doesn't look like a terrible result, at least compared to Tuesday. Was it quite depressing? Managed to get above the 8th with a few games in hand, I'm not going to complain too much here. Richards bound to bounce back, Nash will probably be playing on Saturday and Lundqvist is not going to love 0.940+ games a lot.

Glad to see both Miller and McDonagh on the scoreboard.

There are guys that scan skate the puck in.
I agree.
Where is the open guy for the short pass? Where is the support for a simple game, which is what successful hockey is?
What bugs me is to see a player gain the zone and see no options other than to throw it into the corner, or throw it laterally and hope a Ranger is there to catch it. It's not even a pass, it's more like faint hope.

How often does that succeed?

Of course, had I seen this I'm sure I'd be pissed drunk and crying and eating cold pop tarts and talking to my cat. Take my optimism with a grain of salt.

Guys! Stop blaming Gabby for always going 5 hole in the shootout.

It works EVERY TIME in practice...

I laughed.

Senators fans on the main board complaining about officiating. They have some nerve after we were ROBBED of a goal. I'm sick to my stomach thinking how I actually felt bad for that fan base. Some poor judgement I used. Sickening.

This team is a flat our embarassment. If you cant beat down the senators with all their injuries........and now without their #1 goalie........you dont deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs.

You're better off using the money for the poutine bar close to the Bell Centre. I expect nothing less than a blowout.

We could have a top 6 of Nash, Crosby, Gaborik, Perry, Stamkos, Malkin with a defense of Mcd/Weber, Staal/Yandle, Girardi/? and hank in net, and we'd still lose via blowout in Montreal.

Really? You think he played as well tonight as Nash does usually/has done this season so far?

Also a lot of the chances Nash has missed have been created solely by himself. Not chances put on a silver plate to him. In overtime.

Yeah, a 3x 40 goal scorer doesnt create his own chances at all. In fact he never has in his career. His speed in fact, was never a factor.

Gaborik has been told by Tortorella to go to the dirty areas to score. He never really did that before last season, so that should tell you something considering how great a sniper he was before that.

Silver platter is the only way this team scores anymore cause of the system.

Wouldn't you agree that the whistle shouldn't have been blown for your disallowed goal? If so, then you probably agree the officiating was poor? What's the problem?

We need...something to help both our PP and our shootout gimmick..

Not sure who though, although I have an opinion...

The person who started the thread wasn't complaining about poor officiating, he was complaining about poor officiating on the Senators. Also, I wish I had another view of the Boyle penalty, seemed like a phantom call.

Looking at the flag under your username, I'm getting bad ideas in my head.

This... I dont understand why gaborik uses a "deke"and try to goal 5 hole in the shootout, the dude can SHOOT, use it.

Watch his PP goals from his days in Minnesota.

Nearly all of them were shots around the faceoff circles.

Tortorella has evolved Gaboriks game a ton but let him play. Now hes trying to be a garbage goal scorer.
