To be honest, I prefer the high risk, high return picks like The Duke and The Butcher, but I guess they felt they wanted a safer guy, particularly after a super-risky pick in the second round.

Just because he's not pure finesse doesn't mean he's a 'safe pick.'

Supposedly his upside is a Dustin Brown type - though most likely not as talented, but who knows.

VERY happy with picking Iverson.

I didn't think he'd be available for us.

If Bluenote and Trxjw like him, I like him.

Objectivity requires me to note haven't had chance to see who else was an option.
That conditional disclaimer, someone good enough for nyr2k2, Bluenote and Trxjw is usually good enough for the bernmeister seal of approval.

I like the mix of size, skill and physical play. Probably 3rd line upside but with an edge. Works for me.

If everything goes right, he could play top 6.

Really hurt by the Winterhawks' depth. But still performed great.

didn't play in the PO's

anyone know why?

He did apparently, but I don't see any playoff stats for him. This is from May 11th.

Keegan Iverson scored the overtime winner as the Winterhawks erased a three-goal, third-period deficit to snap a three-game losing skid and defeat the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-5 on Sunday, sending the Western Hockey League championship to a seventh game.

Edit: His playoff stats are listed on the WHL website. 4 goals 4 assists -1 in 21 games.

Well no doubt he's a nyr pick. He'll fit right in with our can't score tradition.

Projs as a 3rd line tweeter type. Not a high skill guy but tough and scrappy.

You cannot make this stuff up.

Hockey's different here
