I almost always lose money when I sell a game a few days in advance. The Washington game during Christmas time probably made up for my losses though.

Maybe it's just me but I've felt the resale market is back to where it was pre pandemic and maybe even stronger. Early on in October and November may have been a bit tough but it always is and even the "dead" games in February and March I'm taking really small losses while the big games are exploding in price.

Upper 200’s, so they are easy to move, but this has been the best selling year I have had (first year as a ticket holder was the year we swept Atlanta). It doesn’t seem real what tickets are going for on the resale market.

I’m sure the Rangers can see this, I’m expecting a big price increase sadly.

What site do you guys use? And do you make more when you sell way in advance?

I generally sell whenever I find out I can’t go, and that’s usually within a week of the game.

Vivid, StubHub, Ticket Exchange, direct to people, etc.

For the bigger games, the move is sometimes to hang on until closer to game time but I don't risk it. I usually sell mine a good amount in advance especially for games I think will be tough sells. If you're selling most games within a week of the game then you're bound to see more losses.

Yeah that makes sense. I only have a half season and I try to go to all of them but sometimes shit comes up last minute and that’s when I usually sell for a loss.

How do you sell on Vivid? I tried signing up and it was saying how you need to be a broker or some shit like that, unless I did something wrong.

If you want to sell on Vivid try signing up for skybox (which is their pos system) and tell them you're a season ticket holder. If they think you're only selling a few games they'll probably say no but I don't think the threshold is that high.

I haven't received anything yet, but think it's still a bit early.
I got my knicks renewal email earlier this week. Rangers can't be too far behind. If Knicks make the 1st round of the playoffs (not just play-in round) there will be a price increase (mine is 3%) so presume the same for the rangers.

Interesting Knicks renewals went out already but I assume it’s because their season ends slightly earlier than the Rangers. Did you get playoff pricing too or is that to come later?

Good to know. Are your Rangers seats markedly different from your Knicks seats? What's the price difference there?

Glad to hear it was only 3%. That's really not terrible given the season both are having.

I understand the conversation on the secondary market, but also feel people are overlooking how much of a benefit it is to the Rangers to have STH. We pay full price for pre-season games + those seats never go unsold. While the Rangers can surely jack up prices on the secondary, they still release them early on and a lot of times they're sold via TM not much about what we would pay. As others have mentioned here, if you wait until late to sell them, you often lose money or they'll go unsold. Rangers undoubtedly eat unsold seats. Now that's certainly not the case for some areas, but you can usually figure this out either by pricing or availability (e.g. last year some lower bowl corners / ends were actually cheaper than mid upper bowl).

Also, do the Rangers still have to pay fees to Ticketmaster if they sell STH. I'm under the impression they don't because as a STH I can avoid feeds & taxes on any additional tickets.

Hey guys, do any of you know what the view for West Balcony 18 row 2 looks like or how it is?
I bought tickets this year in the West Balcony barstools. I was incredibly skeptical to start and the first few games did take getting used to, but I have to say I absolutely love them now. I sat in the 200's for a game and it was f***ing brutal with so many people getting up and down all game both in my row and in front of me blocking the play. That never bothers me in the barstools and I can stand all game if I want (we also have 2 private barstools that are disconnected from everyone, so kinda exclusive).

There's food, bathrooms, etc all right near you. At commercial breaks I'll often grab food or go to the bathroom and be back in my seats by the time the puck drops. Of course, there are some downsides as it's a birds eye view and you might not feel as in the crowd as when you're down lower, but for me it's grown on me as I prefer being able to see everything uninterrupted.

My rangers seats are around the blue line 20 rows back in upper bowl with an avg ticket price of about $96. My knicks seats are center court on the bridge with avg ticket price of $106.

Seconding this. I have a pair on the bridge and pair in the west balcony. Each row is separated- you can't reach out and touch the people above/below you because there's a pane of glass. Love that no one is gonna be standing up blocking my view each time the Rangers enter the zone. Very cool perspective to watch again. Would definitely recommend.

Stubhub, usually within a week of a game for me. It's actually easier for me to go to weeknight games, so that also probably helps since weekend games are always more in demand. I have been going so long, I don't really care who the opponent anymore is for regular season games.

I don't mind going to an Ottawa or Columbus game during the week, there to see the Rangers anyways, and hopefully they have an easy night with those teams.

I know it's President's Day Monday, I can't believe the prices for Winnipeg on Monday night though, it's crazy.

Insane but comes back to the kids like any other popular game. Holiday where everyone's off and kids in the city (not sure about elsewhere) are off next week for mid winter recess. Unfortunately, there were seemingly a lot less games this season that were early starts or on a non-school night than years past. Only one home game started before 5 PM the entire season (the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend) and by my count, there were 12 games that either didn't have a school day following it or were before 7 PM so people got home at a reasonable time. That's including all Friday, Saturday, and 5 PM Sunday games. Compare that to the Knicks who had 7 home games alone that started at 3 or earlier before even factoring in weekends at night or games where there was no school the next day. I'd assume the big disparity is due to TV as well as it being easier to transition from basketball to hockey rather than vice versa for doubleheader days but I really hope they do better with the schedule next year.

Great advice. Whenever I think of relocating I always try to go to the section / rows where I would consider doing so. The west balcony / bridge seats do take some getting used to and as I mentioned, it honestly took a few games before I appreciated their value, so would recommend even sitting up there for a game or two, if possible.

Rumor has it renewal invoices will be sent next week. I usually don't renew with a chase card since I only get 1% back versus 2% which adds up to like an extra 100 bucks a year. But I missed out on some of the chase rewards in past years (the one this year really po'd me since the event had some great players). Are you able to just pay the deposit with a Chase card to get the reward, or does every payment need to be made with a Chase card?

I think its one of the best values. From row 1 you can see everything. I moved from 213 row 17 a few years back and dont regret it one bit.

thats a great question. I use chase all the way through so unsure maybe someone else here would know more. if i had to guess it would be fine it if was done with the deposits. In the end i guess you have to ask yourself if the $100 youre missing out on from cashback is worth itnfor what youd get as far events are concerned.

Seconded ! I checked prices a month ago as I thought I wouldn’t be able to make this game. Starting price in the “blues” was right around $100. Right now they are in the $140 range before any fees.

My increase was 2.8%. $3 per ticket.

Also have my playoff invoice which is only like $100 less than the full seasons but obviously includes all Game 7's right now.

Balcony level, barstools. Saw a 4% increase. $7984 to $8304 for a pair.

This season I sold the majority of tickets, some for face, some above. Don't think this will change much for me. It's one of the cheaper spots with a great view.
