The Leafs were broadcasting their scrimmage like it was any other regular season game.

the commentator was going bananas at a routine scoring chance by some AHL 4th liner.

Kind of glad the Rangers aren't doing that tbh

Well playing him with Jack Johnson makes the least sense of all.

My point is the pairs today could have been decided on for a myriad of reasons. We have no idea what the pairings will be when the season starts.

I just really don’t see what the big deal is. Teams play defensemen on their off-side all the time. He did it with Fox just this last season, albeit only ~100 minutes.

I don't care about the pairings...he could have jumped on the left side of anyone as long as he is getting reps on the left side. If they are serious about him switching sides they'd be giving him reps on the left side.Ill predict it now that he isnt on that Trouba pairing by opening weeks end.

You do have the option to simply not watch or shut the volume off.

I dont think either of them will be here long term.

More likely than not that Jones isn't either but with him being LH hes got a shot.

Unless the involved return is a top 6 C or top pairing LHD, I want to see both Nils and Zac play at the NHL level before moving on. There’s been too much spectacular stuff from both not to wonder how well it translates.

DeAngelo being LD for one scrimmage and then RD in the next scrimmage is NOT indicative of "they've decided the experiment is over" or that "he's bad at being a LD"
