Ya but why is Deangelo back on the right side, you'd think theyd wanna give him all his reps on the left, have they given up on that pairing already?
Trouba is getting a break I guess?

I mean assuming that pair has been broken up already is the same as assuming Jack Johnson will be in the top-4 and Trouba will be our #6D.

Not my point, if you are trying to get someone to play on their off side it makes more sense to play them there all training camp to get used to it, it makes zero sense for him to be on the right side if he is starting the season on the left, which makes me think plans might have changed.

Ok, who should have been is partner then?

He played the left side in Sarnia and Syracuse, and has been quoted saying it would be “an easy adjustment” to switch back over. He played like 100 minutes with Fox too.

Maybe you’re right I’m just not ready to assume anything based on this. Not for nothing but it would be pretty weird for the team to show this much interest and then not even try it out during a regular season game.

DeAngelo being LD for one scrimmage and then RD in the next scrimmage is NOT indicative of "they've decided the experiment is over" or that "he's bad at being a LD"

They keep singing K'Andre's praises, it wouldn't be surprising if they feel he is ready and that having Deangelo and Smith on their off sides makes little sense. I just feel its crazy that if he moving sides, we are playing on Thursday and now he's playing on the right side, it makes 0 sense to do that if he is staying on the left.

Agreed. Two in a row though and I'd say that is most likely the case.

Get over it clown. Jones will never play a game here. This isn't the smurfs of the 80's. Like I said. Do some research on the defense core of teams that win cups. They might have one d guy at 5'11. That's it.

The irony of you calling somebody else a clown is delicious

I think Fox is a keeper as of now. And only one of DeAngelo or Lundkvist will be here long-term.

Zac Jones could be good, but moreso could be a victim of a numbers game here.

More likely than not that Jones isn't either but with him being LH hes got a shot.

K'andre is taking his spot this year
Has he been that good? I really hope so. We need him. If he’s good, and the returning defensemen from last season make even slight improvements, we should have 2.5 very good pairs. The combination of Miller’s style of play and the improvements of DeAngelo, Fox, Lindgren, and Trouba would make for an intriguing group of defensemen.

Well playing him with Jack Johnson makes the least sense of all.

My point is the pairs today could have been decided on for a myriad of reasons. We have no idea what the pairings will be when the season starts.

I just really don’t see what the big deal is. Teams play defensemen on their off-side all the time. He did it with Fox just this last season, albeit only ~100 minutes.
